Communications Strategist based in Norrköping

We are looking for you who want to work with communications and, through innovative and engaging content, make our knowledge of the sea, shipping, and rescue services accessible to more people. You will be part of the Communications Support section within the Communications Department at the Swedish Maritime Administration (Sjöfartsverket).

The Swedish Maritime Administration works for safe and sustainable shipping. We construct and maintain fairways, pilot ships, break ice, are responsible for sea and air rescue, and work with innovation and development in the shipping industry. The Communications Unit has the overarching goal of creating engagement and trust in our operations.

The Communications Support section consists of a Communications Manager and nine employees, handling everything from developing management's internal communications to acting as communications experts during major change projects. Communications Support is also responsible for the employer brand, trade fairs and events, as well as graphic profile. On the department, we work with integrated communication in both owned and earned channels, meaning the target audiences are both internal and external.

Responsibilities

We are looking for you who want to take responsibility for and work with communications in our operations and in our various projects. As a Communications Strategist, you plan and execute communications all the way from idea to finished result. You often lead communication projects or participate in others' projects and operations as a communications expert. In addition to structuring and planning communications, it is important that you can both produce and commission interesting content in the form of sharp texts, images, graphics, and film. Working in networks and in dialogue with many different parts of the organization is a natural part of the role, and you have the ability to develop close cooperation with experts within the agency's various areas.

Who are you?

We are looking for you who:

  • have a three-year academic education in media or communication science, or other education that the employer considers equivalent, or alternatively current knowledge and work experience gained after many years in the profession
  • have several years of relevant professional experience in strategic work within the communications field
  • have very good knowledge of Swedish in both speech and writing
  • have good familiarity with professional work using Adobe products

The following is meritorious:

  • having worked in both private business and public operations
  • having worked with change communication and employer branding
  • having worked as a project manager
  • having good ability to express yourself well in English in both speech and writing

How and when?

This recruitment is for a permanent position expected to be filled as soon as possible. Interviews may be conducted digitally and physically in August.

The Swedish Maritime Administration may apply a six-month probationary period. The position may involve wartime placement at the Swedish Maritime Administration.

Individual salary setting applies for this position.

The position may require Swedish citizenship. Security check with register control may be conducted before an employment offer is made.
