Kastalskolan

Kastalskolan is a school covering grades 4–9 with approximately 400 students. The school is located in Brunflo with a mixed catchment area, encompassing parts of the town center and, to some extent, the countryside. All activities at the school are driven by the principle that "we focus on providing a good education that stimulates students' curiosity and desire to learn." We have a well-developed student health service with a school nurse, school counselor, and school psychologist. Kastalskolan is the workplace for you who want to contribute to creating a sustainable, good society. We assume that you are competent, curious, and ready to take on significant responsibility.

The position is 50% but can be combined with another subject for a full-time position.

Your new job

You will teach Art and Form, playing a key role in stimulating students' artistic development and creative thinking. You will be responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating teaching according to the school's governing documents, taking into account each student's individual needs and prerequisites.

You are expected to contribute to a positive and creative work environment where learning and collegial support are in focus. Your work will be characterized by collaboration with colleagues, where you will work together for continuous pedagogical development and to create the best conditions for student success.

Your qualifications

Requirements

  • Authorized teacher in the subject of Art
  • Ability to adapt teaching to meet students' individual needs and prerequisites
  • Ability to assess students' knowledge and skills in accordance with the curriculum
  • Good knowledge of the Swedish language, both oral and written

Meritorious qualifications

  • Experience of working within the school system and knowledge of the school's governing documents
  • Experience of the school's systematic development work through contributing to collegial learning and pedagogical discussions

We are looking for you

We are looking for you who have teacher authorization and are eligible to teach Art for students in grades 4–9. You have a good ability to create a learning environment where every student is seen, and you are committed to ensuring that all students understand and develop as much as possible. You work in a structured manner and create clarity in teaching, while also being flexible and able to adapt when conditions change. You are proactive, take responsibility for driving the work forward, and have a positive attitude towards school development and collegial learning.

Selection and interviews are conducted continuously during the application period. The position starts in the autumn term of 2026.
