About Norrhälsinge Environmental Office and Permit Unit
We work every day to reduce risks to people's health and the environment – work that is both important and varied. We do this through supervision, controls, and advice in several areas. For example, we check that food businesses handle food safely, that drinking water is safe, that sewage solutions work as they should, and that indoor environments in, for example, schools, preschools, and rental housing are healthy. Through our permit unit, we handle questions regarding alcohol service and tobacco sales. We also work with environmental issues related to, for example, operations, agriculture, and industries, review the handling of chemicals, and follow up on how waste is handled – all to contribute to a safe and sustainable living environment for the residents.
We work in both Hudiksvall and Nordanstig municipalities through a joint environmental and rescue board. We belong to the environmental and rescue administration, where we work closely with the rescue service. As a supervisory authority, we have many laws to adhere to, from special legislation within our areas to more general regulations such as the Administrative Act, Archives Act, GDPR, and Public Access and Secrecy Act.
With us, you become part of a team of 19 people, including two administrators. We are a lovely group that gets along well and values a workplace where we support each other and take joint responsibility – both for our mission and for our shared joy of work.
You will find us in a newly built office building with a central location by Hudiksvallsfjärden, just a few minutes' walk from the bus and train station.
We warmly welcome your application!
