Storuman Municipality is a large municipality in Southern Lapland. Approximately 6,000 people live here, with just over half residing in the urban areas of Storuman/Stensele and Tärnaby/Hemavan. For those who enjoy an active life close to nature, there is a fantastic selection of activities, both in summer and winter. Imagine gliding along a well-groomed ski trail in the magical winter light, a mirror-still mountain lake on a summer evening when the sun refuses to set, a bog in a forest clearing glowing gold with ripe cloudberries, or a freshly brewed cup of coffee in a sunny nook in April. All of this and more are experiences available in our immediate surroundings. Our municipality is not just a place to live, but a place where you can live a wonderful life. Storuman Municipality is a Sami administrative municipality, and we value knowledge of the Sami language and culture.
