RESPONSIBILITIES

Do you want to help drive Växjö’s transition to a sustainable and climate-neutral society?

The Development Unit within the Department of Sustainability and Democracy is looking for a Business Developer who wants to contribute to accelerating the transition towards a sustainable Växjö 2030. As part of the initiative Climate Neutral Cities 2030, we work together with other actors to reduce climate impact and develop the sustainable society of the future.

In this role, you will develop, coordinate, and drive municipality-wide initiatives within the climate and environmental sector. A key part of the assignment is to strengthen the municipality's work on the circular economy, with a particular focus on reuse and circular construction. You will also work on climate transition, sustainability reporting, analysis, monitoring, and implementation of measures to achieve the municipality's climate and sustainability goals.

The work involves close collaboration with the municipality's administrations and companies, as well as external actors such as business, academia, authorities, and civil society. You translate strategies into concrete projects and results, contributing to creating engagement and momentum in the transition work.

QUALIFICATIONS

You have a relevant university degree in environment, climate, sustainable development, or equivalent. We are looking for someone with experience in development work, project management, or coordination within the climate and environmental sector. Experience in circular economy, reuse, or sustainable urban planning is advantageous.

To succeed in the role, you are proactive, driven, and collaborative. You have the ability to create engagement, build relationships, and translate strategic goals into concrete results. You communicate well in both Swedish and English, orally and in writing.
