We are currently recruiting student assistants for Storvikenskolan in Brunflo. The positions are a permanent full-time position (100%) and a fixed-term full-time position (100%) for the autumn term 2026 (starting Autumn 2026).

Östersund is the experience metropolis in the heart of nature, with mountains nearby and world-class events. Here, active outdoor life alternates with a stimulating working life; it is close to work, friends, and school. Östersund is also an expanding university city where research and business develop together, while new city districts emerge and the range of offerings broadens. Östersund is exciting right now, and you are welcome to grow with us.

Storvikenskolan in Brunflo is located approximately two miles outside of Östersund, in a pleasant setting with sports facilities, a swimming pool, and beautiful forest areas near the school. The school currently has approximately 100 students in age-homogeneous classes in grades Pre-K to 3 (F-3).

Responsibilities

As a student assistant in school and after-school care, you provide student support during teaching and social interaction in the after-school program together with other educators, and you participate as a resource in school work in one or more classes. You work in the school's work team where, together with colleagues, you conduct activities that follow set goals.

In the after-school program, we conduct our main systematic quality work and competence development primarily on planning days and work evenings (16:00–18:00).

In addition, we have joint after-school planning time as well as individual planning.

Both the school and the after-school program are active in the values-based concept PAX, which aims to create calm, security, joy, and study peace. We constantly work to develop learning for students and staff in the after-school program through planned free play and guided activities to achieve goals and central content in the Curriculum.

Great importance is placed on developing students' social skills so that they can take responsibility for themselves and others.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have post-secondary education containing pedagogy, leadership, social care, NPD (Neurodevelopmental Disorders) issues, mental health issues, etc., preferably with elements of outdoor activities, but we are happy to receive staff with equivalent education and experience.

We would like you to have good cooperation skills even under stressful conditions, be open to development, and generally be a calm and stable person who puts the student first. You understand that many children need support in social interaction and that we adults have a clear role in being a support in this work.

Meritorious is if you have previously worked with and have training in PAX, as well as experience working with challenging children in Pre-K to 3 school with after-school care.

How the recruitment process works

In this recruitment, we will ask you for an extract from the criminal record register.

Interviews may take place on an ongoing basis. We want you to attach a CV and a personal letter to your application. Grades/certificates do not need to be sent with it. We ask you to complete this if an interview becomes relevant.
