In Sandviken's municipal preschools, we make each other better. The operational idea of the Eastern Preschool Area is an accessible preschool with democratic values and promoting approaches. The promoting work aims to anchor respect for the equal value of all people and develop an educational environment where all children feel included, safe, and develop. As a priority area, we focus on literacy.

Jernvallen Preschool is located in southern Sandviken, next to Arena Jernvallen and Göransson Arena. The surrounding area offers forests and nature to be utilized in teaching. Gullheden Preschool is located in Järbo, close to forests, libraries, and sports facilities where teaching also takes place.

We are now looking for a childcare worker for Jernvallen Preschool and a childcare worker for Gullheden Preschool for a fixed-term position during autumn 2026, with a possible extension.

Job Responsibilities

As a childcare worker, you are an important part of the work team and contribute to creating a safe, fun, and educational environment for the children. You work closely with preschool teachers and colleagues in both planned and spontaneous teaching, and are active in the entire educational process from planning to evaluation. As a priority area, we focus on literacy with an emphasis on children's early language, reading, and writing development.

To provide good conditions for your role, we offer free pedagogical meals, free work clothes (subject to availability) for outdoor use, and your own work computer, which facilitates your daily work and allows you to focus fully on the children's learning and development.

You contribute by:

• Conducting teaching based on steering documents and planning
• Working systematically towards set goals together with the work team
• Encouraging and challenging children in their ideas, problem-solving, and learning
• Reflecting on and analyzing learning processes and pedagogical methods
• Creating accessible learning environments with a focus on clarifying pedagogy

• Working in smaller groups to meet each child's needs
• Developing teaching with a scientific basis and proven experience
• Being present and engaged in the children's daily lives
• Continuously developing our approach and trying new methods
• Valuing a good work climate and respectful treatment

Qualifications

As a childcare worker with us, you need to be secure in your professional role and have the ability to build trusting relationships with both children and colleagues. You have a reflective and curious approach, and actively contribute to developing teaching by analyzing learning processes and pedagogical methods. You structure your work and take responsibility for driving processes forward.

It is important that you have good collaboration skills and enjoy working in teams, where you share knowledge and experiences to strengthen both the children's development and the work team's joint efforts. You take responsibility for your tasks, are solution-focused, and dare to try new ways of working together with others.

Requirements for the assignment:

• Childcare education with complete upper secondary school grades or other education/experience that the employer deems equivalent
• Good knowledge of Swedish, both orally and in writing

Experience working with smaller groups of children, clarifying pedagogy, and accessible learning environments is meritorious.
