Job Responsibilities

As a Senior Mentor, you have a central and coordinating role in the operations and serve as an important link between students, teaching teachers, guardians, student health services, school management, and external actors when necessary. You belong to a work team and work closely with colleagues focusing on a specific grade level. In this role, you have primary responsibility for the students in the grade and are simultaneously a safe and clear adult role model for all students at the school. You have overall responsibility for the students' study situation – academically, socially, and personally – at both individual and group levels. You work actively to create participation and responsibility among students regarding their schooling.

The position does not involve traditional teaching; rather, you are responsible for mentorship time in each class, approximately 30 minutes per week. With a professional and structured approach, you collaborate with teaching teachers to support, motivate, and guide students to reach their goals and develop as much as possible based on their prerequisites. Through regular conversations, continuous follow-up, and your presence in the school environment, you work together with the work team to develop supportive and preventive student health work.

You are also involved in the school's systematic quality work, where your knowledge of learning, development, as well as risk and protective factors, is important. Your ability to build trusting relationships and networks makes you a significant figure for the students. We are looking for someone who is accessible and engaged, while also being able to set clear boundaries and work in a structured and goal-oriented manner.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have/are:

  • A licensed teacher with documented proficiency in your professional practice.
  • Well grounded in the Swedish compulsory school curriculum and current research.
  • Several years of current and relevant experience working with the target group of adolescents in grades 7-9.
  • Experience within special education, supervision, lead teacher roles, work team leadership, and/or school management experience.
  • Experience with NPD (Neurodevelopmental Disorders).
  • Good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both verbally and in writing.
  • Good ability to use digital tools as support in work, e.g., Word, Outlook, Teams, learning platforms, etc.

You are accustomed to and skilled at documenting and analyzing your work in a systematic way. You easily create structures that facilitate both your own and others' work. Additionally, you have well-developed analytical and strategic skills, both at the group level and at the organizational level.

Your Personal Attributes

Your personal attributes are important to us. With your professional demeanor and competence in working in a structured and organized manner, you collaborate with teaching teachers to support and motivate students to reach their full potential. Your good ability to build strong relationships makes you an important person for the students. We are looking for someone who has the ability to be highly accessible to everyone, while also managing to set boundaries and think and work in a structured way.

You work towards results by showing reliability and taking responsibility for planning and follow-up of your work. You are extremely skilled at creating and strengthening relationships by helping others, collaborating, following rules and processes, and sharing information. You improve, seek solutions, and develop learning and knowledge on your own initiative. You are the link that provides service, shows loyalty internally and externally, and monitors the external environment. Common values are visible in your demeanor, and you strengthen your colleagues when this is also visible in them.

What We Offer

We offer you a dynamic work environment, excellent support from school management and colleagues, and a fantastic opportunity for personal development at a school that is dedicated to school development, collegial learning, quality, and creating conditions for our students to be their best selves at school!

We apply continuous selection, so you are warmly welcome to submit your application today!
