Through these companies, we offer products, solutions, and advice that make a difference for Swedish professional tradespeople within plumbing, HVAC, ventilation, sheet metal, tiling, and construction. With approximately 2,700 engaged employees, 180 stores, and locations across the country, the turnover amounts to around 17 billion SEK. Through stable operations, high information security, and continuous technical improvement work, a robust IT environment is ensured that supports everything from the daily needs of stores and the logistics chain to sales functions, customer-facing systems, financial processes, sustainability work, analytics platforms, and other core business areas.
The IT department works closely with the business with the mission to deliver scalable, modern solutions that drive digitalization forward throughout the organization, while simultaneously streamlining processes and creating conditions for an even stronger and more cohesive customer experience. The IT department is also part of Saint-Gobain Distribution Nordic, and some assignments may take place across borders.
Responsibilities
In the role of Network Specialist, you have overall responsibility for the network infrastructure, both strategically and operationally. You work closely with other parts of the IT organization and drive the development of network services in line with business needs.
You combine technical leadership with hands-on work and serve as a central point of contact for complex issues. The role also involves ensuring that the network environment is secure, documented, and adheres to set standards.
At the same time, you lead the planning and prioritization of the team's work and ensure that incidents, problems, and changes are handled in a structured manner. In parallel, you work on long-term development, capacity planning, and cost efficiency.
Examples of responsibilities include:
- Responsibility for the design, architecture, and lifecycle management of the network infrastructure.
- Act as a technical expert and handle complex incidents.
- Ensure network security (firewalls, IDS/IPS, authentication, and access).
- Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to deliver solutions.
Education, experience, and personal qualities
- Several years of experience as a senior network specialist or network engineer.
- Experience in technical leadership or team management.
- In-depth expertise in enterprise networking (LAN, WAN, WLAN, SD-WAN, firewalls, VPN).
- Experience with zero-touch deployment (Ansible or similar).
- Experience in architecture and design of network solutions.
- Network certifications (e.g., CCNP/CCIE, Aruba Certified, Fortinet NSE).
- Experience in network security.
- Good proficiency in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
To thrive in this role, we see that you take clear ownership and have the ability to drive work forward, both strategically and operationally. You balance practical technical work with broader responsibilities where you also lead and coordinate efforts. You are accustomed to moving between a holistic perspective and technical details, making decisions with both long-term direction and concrete functionality in mind.
You collaborate naturally with other technical areas and are clear in your communication, whether explaining technical solutions or driving dialogue with various stakeholders. You adapt your communication to the recipient and situation and have a good ability to manage stakeholder relationships. Furthermore, you work in a structured manner, stay ahead in your planning, and have a solution-oriented approach in complex situations.
