At BITS DATA, you will have the opportunity to lead our data team in developing and refining our data platform, a central and shared part of our customer offering. The data platform is built on Azure Data Factory, Snowflake, and Power BI. As Tech Lead, you are the technical spearhead of the team and set the direction for how we further develop and maintain the platform.

About the role

As Tech Lead for the data team at BITS DATA, you are responsible for best practices in development, leading code reviews, acting as a mentor to other developers, as well as writing code and assisting with complex problem-solving and debugging.

You succeed in this role through:

• Customer contact: Leading technical discussions internally and with customers professionally, translating business requirements into technical solutions.
• Curiosity: Driving innovation and technology evaluation, spreading knowledge within the team and organization.
• Problem-solving: Solving complex system challenges, designing scalable architecture, and optimizing systems for performance and manageability. Anticipating and mitigating technical risks.
• Mentorship: Building the team's collective competence and creating learning environments.

You will become part of a team consisting of product owners, a Scrum Master, internal developers, and consultants. We work closely together to create maximum value for our customers and owners.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone who is driven and can work both independently and as part of a team. You are open to learning new things and exploring within data engineering. You enjoy sharing your knowledge and helping others develop their technical skills.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of documented experience in data engineering.
• An academic degree in IT, engineering, or a related field.
• Very good knowledge of SQL and data modeling.
• Experience designing and managing data pipelines in a cloud environment.
• Experience with the Azure ecosystem or similar cloud platforms (AWS, GCP).
• Very good communication skills.
• Fluent in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Azure Data Factory.
• Experience with Snowflake.
• Experience with Power BI or similar BI tools.
• Experience with dbt or similar transformation tools.
