Do you want to work at a school where knowledge, education, and ambition are at the center? JENSEN Gymnasium Uppsala is now looking for an ambitious special needs educator who wants to contribute to helping our students reach their full potential. We are a team of competent and tightly knit staff and school leaders. The school is located in the heart of Uppsala at Gamla Torget 7.
At JENSEN, we pave our own path. We believe in discipline, health, and daring to think big. We place great emphasis on working as a team where we visit each other's classrooms, support where we can make the biggest difference, and learn from one another. All students are our students!
Our high standards are repeatedly confirmed in the Swedish Schools Inspectorate's reviews. We combine classical education with modern "training for reality" by focusing on academic writing, reading, and coaching to teach students how to actively make wise decisions in their own lives. We believe in a strong health profile, professionalism, and a clear dress code that reflects our ambitions.
As a special needs educator, you are an important part of the student health team and are responsible for designing instruction so that it reaches the students and allows them to find their full potential. You mentor teachers and help our coaches structure studies for students. You also support contact with guardians. You are a central part of the work with students needing extra adjustments and special support. This involves a coordination responsibility for an effective student health structure together with the principal.
In your daily work, you support students and student groups based on need, and you also act in a coaching capacity for staff regarding special pedagogical issues and teaching methods, materials, and guidance. You conduct lesson observations, observe, and work closely with students. The role also includes responsibility for pedagogical assessments, documentation in the journal system, and follow-up. Together with other staff, you contribute to the school's goals and are engaged in the overall development of the school.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who are educated as a special needs educator or as a teacher with ongoing education in special needs pedagogy. Special teachers may also be of interest. You have worked in lower secondary or upper secondary school. You enjoy your work and are driven by seeing students reach their full potential. You have good structure and the ability to create trust. Being a team player is important to you, and you have a creative way of solving challenges. We would also appreciate it if you share our passion for health and development.
Conditions
The position is a permanent part-time position at 50%. We apply a 6-month probation period. The start date is August 5, 2026, or by agreement.
How to become part of the team
We work efficiently and modernly. Instead of a cover letter, we start with a number of selection questions and two work psychological tests that you receive directly after submitting your CV. This gives us an objective view of your potential and gives you quick feedback! Selection is ongoing, and the position may be filled before the application deadline, so do not wait with your application.
Within upper secondary school, you must according to law (2000:873) present an extract from the criminal record. The extract is made via http://www.polisen.se/ with digital BankID. If you do not have BankID, you can order the form, do this as soon as possible as manual handling of the form takes a long time.
