Department Manager for Clothing, Sales, and Social Media sought at Red Cross Södermalm Second Hand & Café

Do you have an eye for visual expression and a passion for circular fashion? Do you want to combine sales, creativity, and social engagement – while contributing to sustainable humanity?

Red Cross Södermalm is now looking for a Department Manager for our clothing and textile section, Tradera sales, and social media. Here, you will play a key role in creating an inspiring store environment, driving sales, and leading others in an operation that makes a real difference.

Red Cross on Södermalm runs a second-hand shop and a café where the surplus goes to humanitarian work – locally, nationally, and internationally. The operation is based on close collaboration between employees, volunteers, and work trainees, where we together create an inclusive and meaningful meeting place. Everything we do is permeated by our values of sustainability and humanity.

About the Role

As a Department Manager, you have an operational and responsible assignment where you lead the work in the textile section, are responsible for Tradera sales, and manage social media.

You are responsible for the daily operations within your section and work practically in the store, warehouse, and at the cash register. You are a key person in creating sales-oriented displays, efficient flows, and an inspiring store environment.

An important part of the role is mentoring volunteers and work trainees and contributing to a positive work climate where people develop.

You are part of the management group and help develop the store as a whole.

Main Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for the clothing and textile section.
  • Sort, value, price, and display goods.
  • Create a sales-oriented and well-stocked clothing section.
  • Lead, introduce, and mentor volunteers and work trainees.
  • Ensure and develop routines and working methods.
  • Be responsible for warehouse flows and logistical solutions.
  • Be responsible for and develop online sales, currently on Tradera.
  • Be responsible for the store and café's social media.
  • Cash register work and reporting.
  • Participate in the management group's shared responsibility for the whole.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience as a visual merchandiser.
  • At least 1 year of experience leading others.
  • Good physical ability as the work involves a lot of standing and lifting.
  • Good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing.

Merits

  • Education in visual merchandising.
  • Additional experience in sales and service.
  • Experience working with volunteers or work trainees.
  • Experience in e-commerce or online sales (e.g., Tradera).

To succeed in the assignment, we are looking for someone who

  • Has a visual ability to create attractive sales, both in the store environment and on social media.
  • Has high social competence and the ability to lead and inspire others.
  • Is confident in giving clear instructions, is receptive, and adapts leadership style to the individual.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced work environment and can prioritize.
  • Has a structured and orderly working method.
  • Has a clear customer and sales focus.
  • Is flexible, unpretentious, and team-oriented.

The Employment

  • Fixed-term employment for one year, 80%, distributed Monday-Friday.
  • Working hours: weekdays in connection with the store's opening hours.
  • Start date: according to agreement.
  • We apply a probationary period.
  • Collective agreement applies.
  • Any questions should be directed to Operations Manager Caroline Thulin via email at [email protected] by June 26th.

Diversity is a natural part of our operations, and we place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Application

  • Last application date: August 2nd.
  • Apply by filling out the form below and attaching a CV. We also request that you attach a work sample demonstrating your ability in visual design. This can be a portfolio, a document with images from previous work, or a link to Instagram or another relevant platform where your work is presented.
  • Selection may include a phone interview, interview, reference checks, and a trial shift.
  • We do not accept applications via email.

We look forward to receiving your application!
