School Librarian for Nakterhusskolan

We are now looking for a School Librarian for Nakterhusskolan who is passionate about promoting reading! Here you have the opportunity to build up the school library's operations from the ground up together with the school's management.

In Haninge Municipality, the libraries operate within the library system Quria. Your work will initially consist of digitizing the school library and its current media, before building up a pedagogical school library operation. You will work closely with the municipality's school library coordinator, especially in the beginning.

You will be part of a work team at the school as well as the central school library network, where we maintain close contact and meet several times per term for network meetings.

We are looking for you who:

• Are passionate about working as a school librarian
• Are proactive and want to collaborate with teachers and after-school care staff
• Spark students' love for reading and are relationship-building
• Have good digital competence

Responsibilities:

• Run the school library and manage the lending system at the school
• Work to promote reading through various activities and projects such as read-aloud sessions, book discussions, book clubs, reading projects, and book talks
• Strengthen students' media and information literacy, for example by teaching about source criticism and social media, particularly for middle school students
• Manage the school library's collection and make media purchases that contribute to students' love for reading

QUALIFICATIONS

• Education in Library and Information Science or equivalent.

It is an advantage if you have previous experience working as a school librarian and have worked in the lending system Quria.

Employment Type

Part-time position with good opportunities for extension, 75%.
