About the Job

The car site Carup.se is looking for a bilingual car journalist and web editor who can write and edit engaging articles about cars and the motor industry. We are an independent site with the latest news about cars and traffic, and we want to inspire, reveal, and guide readers into the exciting world of cars.

Since the car industry is completely global, a large part of our research, news coverage, and source referencing is done in English. We are therefore looking for you who are a driven publisher in Swedish, but who has a feel for English that matches a native speaker. You have the ability to quickly translate, angle, and rewrite international news into powerful and engaging Swedish web journalism – without nuances or facts being lost along the way.

About the Role

As a car journalist and web editor at Carup, you will among other things:

• Find, cover, and write news about cars, traffic, and the motor industry from both Swedish and international sources.
• Write and edit articles about cars, traffic, and car ownership in both Swedish and English.
• Publish material on the web, find engaging image solutions, and package news for maximum reach.

To succeed in the role, you are a creative person who loves telling exciting stories. You are used to a high news tempo, are careful with facts, and are stress-resistant when things get hot in the news flow.

We believe you have:

• Journalism education and experience in editorial work (meritorious with experience from daily press or larger web publications).
• Exceptionally good language skills in both Swedish and English. You write flawless, lively Swedish and have a perfect feel for English for international research and interviews.
• A genuine and deep interest in and knowledge about cars and the vehicle industry.
• A sharp eye for images and a documented gut feeling for headlines that engage.
• Good knowledge of publishing tools and common programs such as Photoshop.
