Welcome to apply for the position of Librarian

As a librarian, you meet students, teachers, and researchers who shape today's and tomorrow's art. You provide information services for SKH's education and research, both generally and specifically for the university's art forms, and you provide support in source evaluation, publication, and documentation of students' and researchers' results.

 

The library collections are cataloged in the national library catalog LIBRIS, which is linked to the local library system Koha. The library also uses databases and web resources within the university's core subjects. The department is also responsible for the publication platforms DiVA and Research Catalogue, which collect the university's results regarding both research and education.

Responsibilities

In the role of librarian, you participate in traditional library work, which includes monitoring resources relevant to the university, shelving and cataloging materials, supporting information searching, handling lending routines, and working with the publication of research results. You also work with issues related to the archive.

 

A significant part of the work involves collaboration on issues related to research. You contribute to creating, anchoring, and maintaining the library's role as support for education and research. This means that through dialogue, you work for good information service and the development of the library's capabilities, where web-based information technology and library systems are important ingredients.

The responsibilities include user education, work with the local library system Koha, and guidance and development of the publication databases DiVA and Research Catalogue.

 

Qualifications:

  • You have a relevant higher education or university degree with a focus on library and information science or equivalent.
  • Experience in library work – especially cataloging in LIBRIS XL
  • Good administrative skills
  • Good ability to communicate in both Swedish and English.
  • Knowledge of music notation reading

 

Merits:

  • Experience with library systems, preferably Koha
  • Experience with web editing and IT within the library field, as well as the publication and storage tools DiVA.
  • Experience with user education with good pedagogical skills.
  • Experience in archival work

The role involves collaboration with various parties within the university as well as with the surrounding society. You are accustomed to working both operationally and strategically. We are looking for someone who is receptive and has the ability to build good relationships. You are also open to change, goal-oriented, resilient, and communicative.

About the position

The employment is a fixed-term contract for 6 months with a possible extension. The scope of the position is 100% of full-time. Start date mid-August, or as agreed.
