About the School

Prästavångsskolan has a total of approximately 370 students. Currently, the school is divided into two school units per stage, but in the autumn of 2026, the school will be merged into a single F-6 school. The school also has five after-school center units; four year-specific after-school units for grades F-3 and one joint after-school unit for the older students in grades 4-6.

For many years, the school has worked health-promotingly through health councils, value-based teams, and student health teams. Our physical activity initiative in collaboration with RF-SISU Skåne permeates a large part of the school's operations and breaks. In recent years, we have also become a "Reading Owns" school and linked reading with physical activity with extra reading-promoting initiatives before and during holidays. Reading should be a natural part of both the school and the after-school center.

Responsibilities

As a music teacher, you are responsible for planning, implementing, and following up on teaching in accordance with current steering documents. You create a creative, safe, and accessible learning environment where students' curiosity, expression, and desire to learn are at the center.

The subject of music is an important part of the school's community and contributes to memorable experiences, for example, at school graduations and joint activities. The position may also include teaching in another subject based on your qualifications and the needs of the operation.

You are responsible for assessing and documenting students' knowledge development and adapting teaching to different needs and conditions. You have clear leadership in the classroom and work actively for study environment, participation, and inclusion.

You collaborate closely with colleagues, student health services, and guardians, and participate actively in the school's development work and systematic quality work. Shared mentorship may be included in the assignment.

As part of our development work, you contribute to language development within the "Reading Owns" initiative and integrate language, texts, and storytelling into music teaching.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a certified teacher with a genuine interest in music and a willingness to use the subject as a creative and pedagogical resource. Qualification in music is meritorious but not a requirement. If you have qualification in another subject, we view this positively.

You have good knowledge of the school's steering documents and a well-developed pedagogical ability. You create engagement, structure, and clarity in teaching and have the ability to meet students based on their different needs and conditions.

As a leader in the classroom, you are secure, clear, and relationship-building. You build a learning environment characterized by study environment, participation, and trust, and work inclusively and solution-focused.

You are engaged, creative, and curious with a strong student focus. You have a low-affective approach and create safe and positive relationships.

You are responsible, structured, and flexible, and have the ability to collaborate and contribute to a good work climate. You communicate professionally with students, colleagues, and guardians and actively contribute to the school's development.

Prästavångsskolan is a "Reading Owns" school where language development is the responsibility of the entire school. The school also has a clear health profile where movement and activity are a natural part of teaching.
