Are you a certified teacher who wants to develop mathematics teaching and has a desire to lead school development? We are now looking for a key person for our operations who wants to combine operational work with students and strategic leadership.

Requirements for the position

• Teaching certification with eligibility to teach mathematics in grades 7-9 of compulsory school or at the upper secondary level
• Good knowledge of the Swedish National Agency for Education's directives
• Started or completed special needs teacher education in mathematics

About the position and your duties

The position is a full-time employment that combines two important roles in the school: special needs teacher and deputy principal. As a special needs teacher in mathematics, you work closely with students to identify, prevent, and remove obstacles in the learning environment. As deputy principal, you work with school development, administration, as well as student and staff issues.

Special Needs Teacher in Mathematics:

• Plan and conduct mathematics teaching with a particular focus on students in need of support.
• Work with differentiated instruction to meet students' different needs within both the classroom and smaller groups.
• Conduct pedagogical assessments and analyses of learning environments to identify where difficulties arise.
• Be a qualified conversation partner and advisor to teaching colleagues on issues regarding the development of teaching.

Deputy Principal:

• Drive the school's systematic quality work and overarching school development processes.
• Have employer responsibility, which includes employee interviews and collegial dialogues.
• Be responsible for parts of student administration.
• Be part of the school's student health team (EHT) and specifically responsible for work on safety and study environment.

Personal qualities

To succeed in the role, you need to be responsive, efficient, and have a good ability to create trusting relationships with both students, colleagues, and guardians. You have strategic thinking and can handle complex problems with a positive and solution-focused approach. Great emphasis is placed on your ability to combine pedagogy with clear leadership.

About us

Victum Gymnasium is located in central Helsingborg, next to Helsingborg C. The school is housed in a beautiful building with pleasant premises and a view of the Öresund. Here, just over 210 students and about 20 employees meet daily. The school offers the Care and Nursing program, Child and Youth program, and the Introduction program. Victum is an independent upper secondary school run by Victum AB, a family-owned education company that has had upper secondary operations in Helsingborg since 2002.
