Welcome to Spängerskolan, a single-grade F-9 school with approximately 260 students located in the scenic area of Arkelstorp.

Through successful teaching, guided by the vision "Learning for Life - together it is a given," we work towards student learning and good goal achievement. Student health services should start in the classroom. The Pedagogical Development Group, led by the principals, leads the development work at the school. The focus is placed in close collaboration with the school's student health team, consisting of a special education teacher, special needs teacher, counselor, school nurse, and principals. The school doctor and school psychologist are also part of our team.

Our long-term focus is on learning environments that promote learning for the individual within the group, study strategies, collaboration with homes, interactions, and good relationships.

Your role with us

As a social pedagogue, you work with practical support for students and guardians. You identify which students need support and interventions and assist students in both social and educational situations throughout the school day, inside and outside the classroom. You strive to create the right conditions for a secure school environment. You build good relationships with both students and guardians, conducting motivational conversations with students and advisory and follow-up conversations with guardians. You plan and carry out activities for individual students or groups based on student needs, with the aim of promoting security and a good study environment.

The work is done in close cooperation with other school staff and the student health team. Understanding each other's professional roles is of utmost importance. In consultation with the student health team, you can assist in contacting authorities and external agencies, such as the Employment and Welfare Administration, Child Habilitation, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, and, if necessary, conduct home visits to reach students who do not attend school. The work can be both physically demanding and mentally stressful.

Who are we looking for?

You who apply have:

• A degree in social pedagogy at least at the bachelor's level (180 ECTS/120 credits).
• A two-year social pedagogical education from a folk high school or university college.
• A degree/pass from equivalent education from a university/university college/university college of vocational studies that the employer considers sufficiently extensive.

We want you to have at least one year of experience working with children and young people and experience from working in schools. We would like you to have at least one year of experience as a social pedagogue. Experience working with individuals with neuropsychiatric disabilities is meritorious. Training in MI (Motivational Interviewing) and ART (Aggression Replacement Training) is meritorious.

You have the ability to choose appropriate courses of action within the pedagogical methods and techniques used by the school. We want you to act independently and in collaboration with others for the benefit of children and students, with respect and openness to different people's life situations and choices. Experience of close contact with guardians is an advantage. Knowledge of work with inclusion and social participation is required for the position.

You are sensitive in interaction with different target groups and meet them in a balanced, low-affective, and respectful manner. You also need a good ability to guide students based on their experiences and prerequisites. Good ability to document and communicate in Swedish, both orally and in writing, is required for the role. It is meritorious if you have a B-driver's license for manual transmission.
