The Department of Gastroenterology is part of the Surgery and Gastroenterology business area at Skåne University Hospital (Sus). We provide both broad and highly specialized gastroenterological and hepatological care, as well as research and teaching in Malmö and Lund. We have a large, shared gastrointestinal clinic in Malmö, where our gastrointestinal ward is also located. A clinical nutrition clinic is located in Lund, and our advanced endoscopy clinics are in both cities. Additionally, specialists from the department work at the Surgical Emergency Department (KAVA) in Lund.

In addition to the standard disease panorama, we have specialized clinics for several areas, including intestinal failure, neurogastroenterology, IBD ultrasound, and polyposis. The Department of Gastroenterology consists of approximately 40 gastroenterologists/future gastroenterologists, and we have a strong interest in research, development, and teaching, with extensive national and international contacts and driving colleagues. We have recently moved our operations in Malmö to completely new and purpose-built facilities at the New Hospital Malmö (NSM).

RESPONSIBILITIES

We are now looking for two Specialist Training (ST) doctors in gastroenterology and hepatology!

The training takes place within the framework of the ST program with an individual supervisor and the formulation of an individually adapted ST contract. The service is planned in consultation with the business manager, study director, supervisor, and in accordance with the National Board of Health and Welfare's goal description as well as recommendations from the Swedish Gastroenterological Association. As part of the position, you may also become a specialist in internal medicine.

We offer you a varied and diverse work within the gastroenterology business area. The tasks include, among other things, clinic and ward work, endoscopies, and on-call duties. The position also includes teaching medical students, observing physicians, and other staff categories.

QUALIFICATIONS

We welcome you who are a licensed physician with permission to work in Swedish healthcare and have completed basic training (BT), or completed general training (AT). Swedish language skills at least corresponding to level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale are a requirement. Previous experience from clinical service within gastroenterology is meritorious, as is service/specialist degree in internal medicine and research experience. A doctoral degree is meritorious.
