We are looking for a Teacher in Animal Care and Nature Agriculture

At Realgymnasiet, we are now seeking an engaged teacher for our operations in Animal Care and Nature Agriculture. The position covers 1 place and can be part-time or full-time depending on your competence. If you are not a certified vocational teacher today, training to become one may be an option.

Your Responsibilities

As a teacher at Realgymnasiet, you create conditions for learning and guide students based on a given educational concept and the program's educational goals. You plan, conduct, and evaluate teaching, and continuously work on assessing goal fulfillment. You participate in subject group work and team work, collaborating closely with colleagues, mentors, and student health services to create an attractive school with good conditions for active learning.

Depending on your areas of competence, you will teach subjects such as companion animals, animal husbandry-companion animals, and nature agriculture. You are also responsible for students' APL (Work-Integrated Learning) within your subjects, as well as for an additional student group in animal care. The school has its own animal department, and animal room responsibility is included in the position. Please note that mentorship is not included in the role, as we have full-time mentors.

Your Qualifications

To be considered for the role, we see that you have:

• Very good knowledge of animal care and nature agriculture.
• Experience working in animal care, farming, and/or veterinary care.
• Very good knowledge of different species and breeds, animal anatomy, physiology, behavior, and the ability to feed and care for animals in an ethical and safe manner. Good knowledge of disease control and legislation.
• Good knowledge of the different work environments in nature agriculture, its services, history, and its significance for sustainable societal development and biological diversity.

Merits

• Teacher certification with eligibility to teach in general upper secondary subjects or as a vocational teacher.
• Previous experience in the role of a teacher.
