About Us

The Social Services Administration in Karlsborg is responsible for elderly care, care for people with disabilities, municipal health and medical care, as well as individual and family care. The administration has approximately 250 employees and a wonderful mix of experience and curiosity.

We are now looking for summer substitutes for several different workplaces: elderly housing, short-term care facilities, dementia care units, and LSS (Support and Service for Persons with Functional Impairments) operations such as group homes and personal assistance. As a summer substitute, you will replace permanent staff during their summer holidays, during weeks 26–33. Working hours are scheduled during day/evening/weekend, night, or 24-hour shifts.

What You Will Do

Your task as a care worker is to create a safe, meaningful, and active daily life for our users. This can involve everything from personal hygiene, walks, and medication to household chores like cleaning and laundry. We also engage in activities that contribute to well-being and joy. At night, the work mainly involves maintaining calm, either as an awake night shift or with an on-call sleeping duty.

The tasks vary depending on where you work:

• At the elderly home, it involves everything from serving coffee with a smile and creating meaningful activities to supporting residents in all daily routines.

• In home care services, you are the helper who makes daily life easier for our elderly.

• Within LSS, you become a safe and supportive part of our housing and personal assistance services.

Together, we help each other create a meaningful daily life for the users, day and night. No matter where you work, your contribution is important – and appreciated!

Your Role in the Summer Team

We are looking for you who are 18 years or older, enjoy working with people, are sensitive, flexible, and have an empathetic approach.

It is also important that you can express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish. Experience within care and social services is meritorious but not a requirement – we welcome both young people who want to try it out and older individuals who wish to share their experience.
