Drottning Blanka’s Gymnasium in Borås is now looking for a School Nurse!
Drottning Blanka is part of AcadeMedia, one of the largest private education providers in the Nordics. We operate throughout the entire education chain, from preschool to adult education. Our employees have different roles and competencies, but share a strong focus on quality and development. We help our children, students, and participants develop and reach their goals, and we are therefore looking for you who want to help make Sweden a little better.
Your Role
The Student Health Service’s mission is to support students' development towards educational goals, primarily through health-promoting and preventive work.
As a school nurse, you bring nursing competence and medical expertise as support in the students' learning process. You follow AcadeMedia’s guidelines for the Student Health Service’s medical interventions and participate in the school’s student health work by:
- identifying symptoms early during health conversations that may indicate a need for additional adjustments or other interventions
- investigating and assessing the physical and mental health of individual students, sometimes as a basis for the school’s investigation work and when creating action plans
- collaborating with others to increase knowledge about a healthy lifestyle among students and to provide support in related teaching
- contributing knowledge about risk and protective factors for students' health, social situation, and learning
- offering time for spontaneous visits where simpler healthcare interventions are provided
- offering vaccinations according to the general vaccination program for children
As a school nurse, you are part of the school’s Student Health Team and collaborate closely with school leadership, the Student Health Team (EHT), full-time mentors, educators, guardians, and external authorities. The role also includes participating in the school’s development work and in the joint development and quality assurance work within the medical Student Health Service.
The work requires that you are confident in your professional role, can work independently, are proactive, and have a good ability to see opportunities in different situations. As support in your work, you are part of AcadeMedia’s network for school nurses, led by a medically responsible manager.
Your Profile
We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse with specialist education as a pediatric nurse, district nurse, or school nurse. You are interested in working with preventive health care and further developing a modern school nurse role. You have good interpersonal skills, can build trust with young people, have good planning and prioritization skills, and can be flexible in situations that require it. If you have previously worked as a school nurse or have experience in health-promoting work with children and young people, we view this very positively. Experience with the digital medical record system PMO is an advantage. Personal suitability is highly valued.
Our Offer to You
We offer all our employees continuous competence development through AcadeMedia Academy, as well as internal and external professional development. Here, you will naturally receive collectively agreed benefits and insurances, as well as a generous wellness allowance, pension counseling, staff discounts, and the opportunity for advantageous purchases through net and gross salary exchange.
The position is a part-time employment with a total extent of 50%.
A probation period of 6 months applies. Start date is by agreement.
Application and Contact
Apply as soon as possible via our recruitment system as selection and interviews are conducted on an ongoing basis. The position may be filled before the application deadline.
