The Preschool and Primary Education Department is one of Varberg Municipality's largest departments, with nearly 2,200 employees. Within our areas of operation – preschool, primary school, and child and student health services – we are here for children and students. Together, we shape the future.

Vidhöge School is located in Veddige, approximately 2 miles northeast of the central town of Varberg. The school accommodates 650 students in grades F-9. The school offers a varied outdoor environment and proximity to natural areas.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a special teacher in mathematics for grades 7-9, you play a central role in creating an accessible learning environment where we together create the best possible conditions for learning. Through an inclusive approach, you provide students with the prerequisites to develop based on their own conditions. You are an important part of the school's student health team and work to create a sustainable working environment where both students and staff are given the opportunities to grow.

Main responsibilities:

• Plan, lead, and evaluate teaching based on regulatory documents and special pedagogical strategies.
• Work primarily in a promoting and preventive capacity together with students to strengthen their knowledge development and well-being.
• Supervise and support teachers in adapting teaching and the learning environment at the individual, group, and organizational levels.
• Collaborate closely with the principal, special educators, and other professions within student health to develop the quality of teaching.
• Actively participate in the school's systematic quality work and contribute to a formative approach in daily pedagogy.

QUALIFICATIONS

You are skilled at building relationships and creating trusting contacts with both students and guardians. You have a good feel for the group, are flexible, and have a high ability to adapt methods based on students' different needs, special support requirements, and knowledge progression.

We are looking for someone who:

• Is a certified teacher with a special teacher education in mathematics for older years, grades 7-9. If you are not qualified, it is meritorious if you have studied credits in special pedagogy or/and have experience working with students who have special support needs.
• Have the ability to base your teaching on proven experience and scientific foundation with an exploratory approach.
• Demonstrate skill in planning and following up on operations systematically based on given frameworks.
• Have the ability to identify and map students' needs and support measures.

It is meritorious if you have:

• Experience working in a student health team or specific competencies in language, writing, reading, or mathematics development.

Salary: Monthly salary.
Employment type: Permanent position.
Duration: Permanent, start date: 2026-08-31. Start date according to agreement.
