We are now looking for a mother tongue teacher in Kannada at 11% to the Mother Tongue Unit in Södertälje Municipality.

Your responsibilities

Your task is to support and teach multilingual children/students in their mother tongue in all school operations from preschool to upper secondary school, as well as to conduct study guidance for newly arrived students in the school's various subjects in all school forms. The work will be distributed across different preschools and schools in the municipality, in close collaboration with preschool and school management, educators, and teachers.

The Mother Tongue Unit works actively to support children and students in their learning.

Together with other mother tongue teachers, you will drive and develop the operations based on our steering documents and the goals in the curriculum as well as the course plan.

Who are you?

Requirements:

  • We are looking for you who have a Swedish teaching license and are qualified to teach the subject of mother tongue.
  • Have experience with study guidance in mother tongue in all school forms and have Kannada as your mother tongue.
  • Have experience in mapping newly arrived students using the Swedish National Agency for Education's mapping materials.
  • Have knowledge and experience in mapping students in preschool class using the Swedish National Agency for Education's mapping material Find the Language.
  • Have very good knowledge of the Swedish language in speech and writing.

  • As a person, you are structured, have good social skills, and find it easy to establish contact and collaborate with both students and colleagues as well as guardians.
  • You are independent, confident in yourself, creative, solution-focused, and engaged.
  • Dare to challenge "traditional" teaching, think new thoughts, and can put your ideas into practice.

Merits:

  • Have good knowledge in mathematics, Social Studies (SO), and Natural Sciences (NO).
  • Have a B-driver's license and access to your own car.
