Description of workplace and duties

At Kvidinge School (a preschool-grade 6 school with approx. 200 students), we always put the student's development and well-being at the center. We offer an inspiring environment with our own beautiful facilities and a large schoolyard full of opportunities – featuring a multi-purpose arena, play areas, and green spaces.

We are currently seeking one after-school program teacher (fritidslärare) with a permanent position at 100%. Additionally, we are looking for two after-school program teachers at 80% on a temporary basis.

As an after-school program teacher, you support the children's development and learning throughout the student's entire school day. You are part of a work team where you, together with colleagues, plan, implement, and evaluate the activities with the goal of driving the school's development forward based on current governing documents. We offer you a varied, responsible, and stimulating job with opportunities for personal development.

You plan, implement, and evaluate pedagogical activities based on the curriculum. This involves a lot of experience-based and group-oriented learning through creation, play, movement, nature, and culture.

During the school day, you often collaborate with other educators at the school. The job includes teaching classes alone in practical-esthetic subjects and being responsible for recess activities. Candidates with education and/or experience in teaching art, music, or home economics are particularly interesting for this position. We place great importance on these skills to broaden the school's combined competence.

A large part of the job involves strengthening students' social skills, practicing conflict management, countering harassment, and creating a safe and inclusive group dynamic. We expect you to be confident in your leadership and willing and able to contribute to new thinking and development.

You have regular dialogue with guardians during drop-off/pick-up and during development meetings to discuss the student's development and well-being.

You document the pedagogical work to monitor and develop the quality of the operations.

Do you want to work in an engaged team where we together shape an after-school program based on the students' curiosity?

Why choose us?

  • Good working conditions: We value our after-school program and ensure you have good planning time and standby time in your daily life.
  • High satisfaction: Our satisfaction surveys and low staff turnover show that both students and staff are very happy with us.
  • Strong community: We have collegial cohesion and develop together.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a certified after-school program teacher.

It is important that you have the ability to create good relationships with children, parents, and employees. You are solution-focused and have good collaboration skills. It is also important to be a good role model and to be initiative-taking and driving in the pedagogical work. You have the ability to see students' different needs, take into account their individual prerequisites, and help students grow and develop. Being confident in the teacher role and feeling pride in your work are also important qualities. Experience from similar assignments is meritorious.

Åstorp Municipality applies individual and differentiated salary setting, taking into account the employee's experience, competence, and current market conditions.
