Are you curious about working in a growing school environment? Do you want to help ensure a good education for our students where collaboration is crucial and your skills make a big difference? Then please apply for the position of teacher in our new lower secondary school at Bergshamraskolan!
About the workplace
This autumn, we are a school with approximately 410 students in grades F-8, and the lower secondary school (grades 7-9) is gradually expanding one grade at a time. The school is located next to Edsviken and Ulriksdal Palace Park, meaning we are close to nature while being only 12 minutes by subway from central Stockholm.
At Bergshamraskolan, we actively work with structures and methods to create participation in the school. We are a friendly school where we work together with colleagues in a pleasant environment. Here, you will work alongside engaged and knowledgeable colleagues who prioritize the students' best interests in our daily work. Together with the students, we have established the values Safety, Knowledge, and Community, which form the foundation of our daily work at the school.
The lower secondary school and the art room have completely newly renovated facilities where the environment has been optimized for good learning for everyone.
What does the job entail?
We are looking for a certified teacher in Art for grades 4-9. The Art position involves scheduled teaching on Thursdays and Fridays. For a full-time position, you must be able to combine Art with at least one other core subject for work in studio activities. For the 2027/2028 school year, Art teaching can be combined with another subject in a regular class.
Together with other teachers, you will be responsible for the pedagogical operations. You will be part of a work team that designs and develops the operations and lays a good foundation for the students' development. The position includes all aspects related to your subjects, from developing ideas and planning work to creating and evaluating the work. You conduct lessons, pedagogical documentation, and strive to create a safe and welcoming environment where all students feel seen. In our school development, we focus on accessible learning and see collaboration as the key to shared learning and improved student results.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for someone who:
- is a certified teacher with eligibility to teach Art in grades 4-9
- has experience working as a teacher in lower secondary school
- is well-versed in all parts of the curriculum and other relevant regulatory documents
- is familiar with digital tools that you use creatively in teaching as well as for your own planning, follow-up, and documentation
- has a good command of the Swedish language in speech and writing
- is familiar with LGR 22
We consider it an advantage if you have eligibility to teach an additional subject besides Art.
Your leadership is rooted in the belief that all children can and want to develop. Your teaching is based on scientific grounds and proven experience, enabling you to create good learning environments. You are familiar with and adhere to the ethical principles for teachers and have the ability to promote democratic values.
As a person, you are sensitive to the students' needs, clear, respectful, and have a great ability to collaborate with students, guardians, and colleagues alike. Furthermore, you will plan, organize, and prioritize effectively and ensure that all processes are completed with high quality.
You have, just like us, a great commitment and a desire to develop together with colleagues and students. Your leadership is rooted in the belief that all students can and want to develop, and you have the ability to create situations where students succeed.
