Do you want to work with an important societal mission where you support people in supported housing?
SHIS Bostäder is now looking for a Supported Housing Worker (Boendestödjare) who is deeply committed to working with people in vulnerable situations. In this role, you will become part of Bo1 Farsta – an innovative operation where SHIS and the social services work together to create safety, stability, and long-term pathways out of homelessness.
Together, we will fulfill our shared mission to enable our tenants to get the key to their own door.
Employment and Job Description
The employment is a permanent position with an initial probationary period of 6 months. Start date according to agreement.
Your primary workplace will be in Farsta. In the role of Supported Housing Worker at SHIS, other workplaces may become relevant.
The Role of Supported Housing Worker at Bo1 in Farsta
For this specific position, the target group consists of single individuals with harmful substance use and addiction who are assessed to be able to live independently with support.
The operation started as a pilot project and is now classified as so successful that it becomes a permanent part of Stockholm City's work to counteract homelessness.
Your task is to respond to orders from social services, district administrations, or social administration through an implementation plan and, together with the tenant, work towards the client and the individual's goals for the supported housing intervention. In your work, you collaborate with employees from the city's social services who are based at Bo1 in Farsta.
The intervention you provide aims to strengthen the tenant's own abilities with the goal of helping them move on to the regular housing market.
Job Duties
The work as a supported housing worker may include daily support in the home, support in living with protected personal data, support in creating structure and routines, help with authority contacts, and work to break social isolation.
Sometimes the support is practical depending on the individual's current needs. Examples of interventions can include:
- Following and supporting tenants in daily life and helping with contacts regarding work, school, etc.
- Supporting the tenant in tasks related to managing and planning their daily finances.
- Initiating and coordinating care contacts and authority contacts when needed.
The work also includes ongoing administration in the form of case recording, implementation plans, contract writing, administration in connection with relocation, obtaining documents and certificates, and following up that tenants pay their rent, etc.
You will work in the operation system Alfa eCare Welfare and document according to the Social Services Act.
Qualifications
For this role, you need among other things to have a good understanding of society, experience in social work, and experience from coordinating contacts between various societal institutions and authorities (Tax Agency, social services, police, etc.).
Overall, we are looking for you who have:
- Completed upper secondary education within social sciences, care, and social services.
- Further education as a behavioral scientist, social pedagogue, or equivalent.
- Experience working with the target group and work with a social focus.
- Experience in pedagogical work.
- Knowledge of documentation requirements and case recording in accordance with the Social Services Act.
- Experience of working within or collaborating with social services or the public sector.
- Documented knowledge in MI (Motivational Interviewing).
- Computer literacy and system proficiency (Office package).
- Very good ability to express yourself well in Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing.
It is meritorious if you have:
- Documented knowledge in ESL (An Independent Life).
- Experience in working with the application of the Social Services Act.
- Knowledge of or experience with low-affective approach or equal methods.
- Language skills beyond Swedish and English.
- Understanding of LGBTQI+ issues.

A large part of the work consists of collaborating with our clients, the District Administrations, which implies requirements that you are communicative and structured in your administration.
It is important that you are confident in yourself and can adapt your working methods to the situation. You must also be prepared to constantly learn new things and develop the operation.
