Welcome to us

We are strengthening our investigation team with two positions and are therefore looking for Social Secretaries for Financial Assistance. The position is located at the unit for Financial Assistance and Domestic Violence. A total of fifteen people work at the unit, including the unit manager and a mentor, and we work in teams with a family-oriented approach to help people achieve self-sufficiency and an independent life.

With us, you will have an important job that truly makes a difference for the people of Stockholm! We are located at the district administration's main office, right next to the Björkhagen metro station and the beautiful Nacka Reserve. There is parking available a few hundred meters from the office.

Your role

Your main task as a Social Secretary within Financial Assistance is to motivate, support, and guide clients toward self-sufficiency, while simultaneously investigating the right to assistance on a monthly basis. The work provides a deep understanding of the welfare society, and you will have great opportunities to influence people's lives in a positive and sustainable direction. You work with a broad target group and will encounter unemployment, physical and mental ill-health, functional variations, harmful use and addiction, homelessness, domestic violence, and crime.

A typical workday usually consists of a variety of activities, from client visits and meetings with collaboration partners to independent case processing and documentation. You have many competent colleagues to work with to achieve the goals of the operations.

Your skills and experience

You have a degree in Social Work (Social Work degree).

It is meritorious if you have:

  • current experience working within financial assistance
  • experience working with structured assessment tools
  • experience with motivational interviewing with clients

  • is structured and can plan, prioritize, and drive your own work
