New Position: Developer for Operational Rescue Services & Cybersecurity

Värend Rescue Services is a municipal consortium responsible for rescue services for the inhabitants of Alvesta, Älmhult, and Växjö municipalities. Currently, approximately 300 people work here, of which about 240 are part-time staff, distributed across the consortium's fourteen fire stations. Värend Rescue Services' mission is to provide equal and satisfactory protection against accidents concerning people's lives and health, as well as property and the environment. Job Responsibilities

Do you want to work on developing the future operational rescue services and strengthening our cybersecurity? In this role, you will combine practical development and training work close to the operations with strategic security work.

We are looking for someone who has an interest in operational activities and development work, while also having an understanding of security or IT issues. You thrive in a role where you both analyze, develop, and train others.

You drive the development of working methods within operational rescue services and train employees to strengthen their ability to act effectively during rescue operations.

In close collaboration with the municipality's security department, you work to protect our information and systems, identify risks, and contribute to ensuring we comply with current legal requirements regarding information and cybersecurity.

Among other things, you will:

• drive development work related to operational capability.
• plan and conduct training for rescue service personnel.
• work with risk analyses and the development of cybersecurity.
• contribute to meeting legal requirements within information security (e.g., NIS2 and GDPR).
• develop routines and working methods for handling incidents.

You contribute to the organization standing strong - both in the digital realm and in real-world operations.

The position can be combined with operational duty as an officer/commander.

Organizationally, you will belong to the Operational Development and Operations unit, where you will be part of a great team. The position is located in and based out of Älmhult's emergency services building.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

• SMO, GRIB, or equivalent according to the previous education system.
• good ability to express yourself in speech and writing.
• at least a Category B driver's license.

Meritorious qualifications include:

• training in LK1/SL or equivalent training according to the previous education system.
• experience in operational work in a leadership position.
• pedagogical training.
• experience as a trainer.
• experience working systematically with risks and security measures.
