Do you want to contribute to a Stena with zero accidents? We are now looking for a Safety Business Partner for Stena Recycling in Gothenburg. This role is for you if you want to combine strategic work with presence in the operations and are motivated by creating real change within occupational health and safety.

As a Safety Business Partner, you will act as a consultant providing support to managers and key personnel regarding safety issues within Stena Recycling's branch network. You will work closely with various facilities and branches, helping the organization translate legal requirements, policies, and safety goals into concrete working methods that make a difference in everyday life. The role involves great variation; one day you might support a line manager with occupational health issues, and the next day you could be out at a facility conducting risk management, driving improvement work, or delivering training. The role also involves working centrally within systematic occupational health and safety work. You will have the opportunity to build long-term relationships with the operations while contributing to developing the future of safety work at Stena Recycling.

About the role

You will belong to Stena Recycling’s central Safety and Security team and report to the Head of Safety & Security. The team is in an exciting phase of development where the organization is investing in new competencies and a more proactive, business-oriented approach to safety. You will function as an expert and advisor on occupational health and safety matters for the facilities you support. Through close collaboration with operations and other support functions, you will contribute to the business by creating uniform working methods, high regulatory compliance, and a strong safety culture within the company.

In this role, you will among other things:

• Develop, implement, and follow up on occupational health processes and safety routines
• Translate legislation, authority requirements, and internal guidelines into concrete working methods
• Conduct and support risk assessments, safety rounds, analyses, and accident investigations
• Drive systematic occupational health and safety work and ensure best practices are shared between operations
• Educate, coach, and support managers in occupational health and safety matters
• Participate in management group meetings and contribute the safety perspective to the business
• Collaborate closely with HR, EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) functions, and other specialist areas

The position is based at Stena Recycling’s headquarters in Gothenburg. Travel within the West and South regions is a natural part of the role, and when not visiting operations, you will primarily work from the office.

Your experience

We are looking for someone with experience driving occupational health and safety issues in an operation where safety is a central part of the business. You have worked with systematic occupational health and safety work, risk management, and improvement work, and feel confident in translating legal requirements and guidelines into practical solutions that work in the operation. You likely have experience from industry, production, construction, civil engineering, or other operations with complex occupational health risks. You are accustomed to working closely with managers and leaders and thrive in a consultative role where you both support, coach, and challenge to create development. We would like you to have education in the occupational health field or equivalent experience. Experience with chemical occupational health risks, EHS matters, or project management is meritorious. A valid driver’s license (Category B) is required.
