Are you someone who wants to code for something bigger than just the next feature? Do you want to geek out on technology while simultaneously improving the health of all of Sweden? Then this might be the role for you.

About the role

As a backend developer here, you work in an agile team where you deliver value together. The entire team focuses on backend development, with the goal of creating robust digital services for the rest of the agency. We work with quality in all stages through both development and test automation. The team shares responsibility for quality, helps each other where needed, and drives the development of our platform solutions. We strive to be at the forefront of technology, and you will have both individual responsibility and a clear role in the bigger picture.

You will help build components that create the prerequisites for national digital infrastructure within health, care, and social services. We are on a journey where technology, data, and public benefit meet. To achieve a more cohesive and accessible digital healthcare system in Sweden, we are looking for developers who want to create smart solutions with real impact from day one.

About you

In your role as a developer, you move comfortably between different tools and environments while being fundamentally skilled at solving complex problems. You are team-oriented and thrive when working towards common goals. It is second nature for you to drive your own work forward while also being involved in implementing changes within the team.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • An academic education of at least 180 HP (120 old credits) in data/IT or equivalent work experience.
  • Several years of experience as a system developer, using Java and JPA/Hibernate.
  • Some years of experience with container technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift.

The following qualifications are meritorious for the position:

  • Experience working with scalable REST APIs.
  • Experience working with Quarkus, Spring Boot, or other equivalent modern Java frameworks for microservices.
  • Experience in security development using, for example, OAuth2 and SAML.
  • Experience with log standardization such as JSON logs and correlation IDs.
  • Experience with performance and response time testing, as well as platform work.

What do we offer?

The Swedish e-Health Agency is a growing authority, and we drive the development of national digital infrastructure within health, care, and social services. We create the prerequisites for digital services and solutions for both private individuals and professionals within healthcare, pharmacies, and social services. We work to ensure that health data becomes accessible throughout the entire care chain.

We have approximately 600 employees in Kalmar and Stockholm. Here, you have the opportunity to make a difference in an innovative environment with friendly and competent colleagues. All employees have trust-based working hours and can work partially remotely. Read more about the Swedish e-Health Agency as an employer: Work with us (#).
