Your Role

Group IT is part of Saab and has global responsibility for the development, operation, and management of the company's shared IT environments. Within Business Applications, we work with governance, business development, and management of the IS/IT area, with primary IT responsibility for major development projects and R&D capabilities. The Software Enablement section is responsible for lifecycle management and packaging of applications as well as the intake of free open source software. Today, the section includes approximately 20 people, and the operations are distributed across three teams. The workplace features a flat hierarchy culture where professionalism and engagement are key; we respect, support, and learn from one another.

The Application Provisioning team, part of Software Enablement, is now seeking an Application Technician with a focus on Linux. This role is being established to strengthen our competence and develop our methods for application distribution on Linux platforms.

The position may involve domestic travel, approximately once a month.

Team responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Packaging for the majority of Saab's Windows applications
• Publishing applications so they are orderable by Saab employees.
• Maintenance of Saab's Citrix environments and Cloudpaging infrastructure.
• Development of the Application Provisioning service as a whole.

Your Profile

To succeed in this role, you must be proactive, able to prioritize, and possess strong communication skills both internally within the team and with customers. We believe you have a customer-oriented focus, with strong analytical and solution-oriented thinking. You are a team player but also accustomed to working independently. To thrive with us, you need to be ambitious, service-minded, and enjoy working in an environment where conditions may change at short notice based on user needs.

We are looking for someone with several years of experience working in:

• Linux environments, such as Ubuntu, Debian, or Red Hat Enterprise Linux, with good knowledge of package management and application distribution.
• You have experience with both traditional package systems (DEB/RPM) and universal solutions like Flatpak. You understand build and distribution processes and are familiar with tools such as Ansible. Furthermore, you have scripting skills, primarily in Bash and preferably also in Python.
• You are confident in handling dependencies, troubleshooting installations, and ensuring quality and functionality in distributed applications.
• Experience with version control (Git) and working with automated build and deployment flows (CI/CD) is advantageous, as is knowledge of container technology such as Docker.

As a person, you are structured, detail-oriented, and solution-focused. You have good collaboration skills and enjoy working closely with both development and operations teams. Good proficiency in both Swedish and English, in speaking and writing, is a requirement.

The location is flexible between Stockholm, Gothenburg, Linköping, Jönköping, Malmö, and Lund.

The position requires you to undergo and pass the security clearance procedures applicable at the time. Positions where Saab has requirements for security classification may, in some cases, entail citizenship requirements.
