Region Östergötland operates three schools, which are grouped under the Regional Development Board. Vreta Educational Centre is located just outside Linköping, Himmelstalund Educational Centre is in Norrköping, and Lunnevad Folk High School is situated between Vikingstad and Mantorp.

At Vreta Educational Centre, the Nature and Agriculture Programme offers specializations in agriculture, horse care, and forestry, as well as the Vehicle and Transport Programme's transport specialization. This includes a specialization for professional drivers and a nationally recruiting specialization for recovery drivers. National Sports Education (NIU) is offered in equestrian sports (dressage or show jumping). Vocational adult education and university college programs are available in agriculture, horse care, and forestry. The Adapted Upper Secondary School offers the national program Forest, Land, and Animals.

Job Description

If you are interested and engaged in working with young people and promoting an active leisure time, you should apply for the position of residential/leisure staff at Vreta's student residence. Being a secure, stable, clear, solution-focused, and relationship-building person is important for the operations so that the students have a secure and meaningful environment to stay in.

We now have a permanent position available involving two nights and every other Sunday afternoon/evening. The night shifts are scheduled between 19:30-06:00 on Wednesday and Thursday nights, and from 15:00-22:00 on Sundays. We have awake staff during the night who should be able to work independently and be a secure point for the students. There is an opportunity to take extra shifts during the terms, for example when the school organizes events such as Cow Calving and Open House.

Staff are responsible, together with the students, for having a meaningful leisure time and offer activities continuously throughout the term. There are also fixed activities such as riding, working in the workshop, leisure yard, homework help, various activities at Vreta Kloster sports hall, and more. Since the majority of the students are minors, good communication with the guardians is a matter of course.

Work Group

The leisure staff collaborate with other school staff such as school management, mentors, teachers, meal staff, and others to create a holistic perspective around each individual student.

About You

You have pedagogical or behavioral science education that is relevant for the assignment, for example, youth worker or youth pedagogue. If you have experience or training in Coaching Approach or Motivational Interviewing, it is a merit. Previous experience working with upper secondary students and students with disabilities is seen as important. A Category B driver's license is a requirement. If you have an interest or experience in any of our specializations, we see it as an advantage but not a requirement.

Great importance will be attached to personal suitability. This means that you enjoy meeting young people and supporting and helping them during their leisure time. You have personal maturity and relate in a way that is adapted to the situation, and you have the ability to put yourself in someone else's perspective or situation. You adapt easily to changed circumstances, are solution-focused, and see opportunities in changes. You should be a good collaborator with students and colleagues and see the possibilities with good cooperation.
