Statens institutionsstyrelse (SiS) is a government agency responsible for providing individually tailored involuntary care for youth and adults with substance abuse issues. SiS also implements closed youth care. We do this at youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse issues across the country. SiS Youth Home Folåsa receives school-aged girls with psychosocial problems, as well as those involved in crime and substance abuse.

Job Description

SiS Folåsa is currently seeking substitute treatment pedagogues who can work on an as-needed basis. As a treatment pedagogue, you work in a team together with treatment assistants and treatment coordinators, and together you are responsible for ensuring that the young people and clients living with us receive the safety, care, and treatment they need. We often encounter people in crisis, which means you work with qualified care and motivational work and act as a support in daily life. With the support of your knowledge and skills in care and treatment work, you actively contribute to the implementation of treatment plans. Documentation is an important part of your work, contributing to legal certainty, planning, and follow-up of our operations. You contribute to maintaining safety according to our routines and help ensure that daily life runs smoothly with school attendance, cleaning, cooking, etc. The role may include being a contact person. This is a job for you who sees a positive challenge in working with vulnerable people in difficult life situations. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, joyful, and varied.

Working hours vary depending on needs, and we are looking for people who can work day, evening, weekend, or awake night shifts.

As a new employee at SiS, you will undergo an adapted introductory training to equip you for your assignment.

Qualifications

You must also have:

• At least a 2-year post-secondary education from a folk high school or university college (KY/YH) or other education equivalent to this. The education should be focused on social work, social pedagogy, behavioral science, or another relevant subject area.
• Category B driver's license
• Good Swedish language skills, both spoken and written

It is meritorious if you have:

• Experience working with people in vulnerable life situations, e.g., work in psychiatry or LSS care
• Experience from client-facing positions at the Swedish Prison and Probation Service, e.g., prison officer
• Education in care and nursing
• Experience working with our target group (e.g., addiction care, youth care, young girls, etc.)

To succeed in your work, you have a solid positive view of humanity. You are motivated to help people in vulnerable life situations and you share SiS value base, to be a place for change. You have a good ability to create engagement and participation among our young people and/or clients. As a person, you are secure in yourself and have an easy time creating good treatment relationships. You have good communication skills and can maintain your calm even in pressurized situations. You find it easy to cooperate with others and you can handle conflicts in a constructive way.
