SiS Youth Home Folåsa receives school-age girls with psychosocial issues, as well as those involved in crime and substance abuse.

Job Description

SiS Folåsa is currently seeking substitute treatment assistants who can work on an as-needed basis. As a treatment assistant, you ensure that the routines on the ward function as they should. You play a major role in the stability and security of our young people and clients, and you form the foundation of daily life, including school attendance, cleaning, cooking, and more. You contribute to maintaining safety on the institution according to our routines. Documentation is an important part of your work. You will work on building good treatment relationships and help ensure that our young people and clients receive the security and safety they need to break habitual behaviors. Together with your team of dedicated colleagues, such as treatment pedagogues and treatment coordinators, you have the opportunity to achieve good results and contribute to change. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, joyful, and varied.

Working hours vary depending on needs, and we are looking for people who can work day shifts, evening shifts, weekends, or night watches.

As a new employee at SiS, you will undergo an adapted introductory education to prepare you for your assignment.

Qualifications

You must also have:

• A post-secondary education of at least two years from a folk high school or university college (KY/YH) or other equivalent education. The education should be focused on social work, social pedagogy, behavioral science, or another relevant subject area.
• Experience working with people in vulnerable life situations, e.g., work in psychiatry or within LSS (Support and Service Act) care.
• Valid B driver's license.
• Good command of Swedish, both spoken and written.

It is meritorious if you have:

• Experience working with people in vulnerable life situations, e.g., work in psychiatry or within LSS care.
• Experience from client-facing positions at the Swedish Prison and Probation Service (Kriminalvården), e.g., as a prison officer.
• Education in care and nursing.
• Experience working with our target group (e.g., addiction care, youth care, young girls, etc.).

Your personal suitability is the key to life-changing change. Therefore, you need to have a good ability to create engagement and participation. Equally important is that you have a solid positive view of humanity, great empathetic ability, and the ability to build good treatment relationships. You have good communication skills and can maintain your calm even in pressured situations. *Exceptions to the requirement of at least two years of post-secondary education may be made in individual cases if there are special reasons according to Chapter 5, Section 4 of the Social Services Ordinance (2025:468).

The position is a hourly employment, and as an hourly employee, there are good opportunities to start as soon as possible. If there is a mutual interest in continued employment, there are good opportunities to apply for a permanent position within SiS.
