We are now looking for an engaged and collaborative City Lawyer who wishes to take on a key role working closely with both operations and decision-makers. We need your skills, and you will make a significant impact and difference with us.

Responsibilities

In the role of City Lawyer, you will work closely with the Municipal Director and the political leadership. A large part of your work will involve providing legal support, training, and guidance to managers and staff, as well as handling municipality-wide development issues. The assignment includes developing the municipality's working methods, routines, and governing documents, as well as providing legal expertise when preparing materials for political decisions. We also value judgment and the desire to find smarter ways of doing things.

You will represent the municipality in various legal processes, such as legality reviews and appeals regarding procurement. The role involves work within municipal law, public access and confidentiality, public procurement, municipal competition law, and corporate governance issues.

Organizationally, you will belong to the "Municipal Leadership" main assignment, led by the Municipal Director. Your manager will be the Head of HR, Administration, Legal, and Public Guardianship.

You will be physically located at the City Hall in Ängelholm, alongside many colleagues from the Municipal Leadership main assignment and the Municipal Director's staff units.

Our external environment is changing rapidly, and we are on an exciting development journey. Therefore, you are also expected to conduct environmental scanning and contribute legal perspectives to various issues concerning the municipality.

We are looking for someone who has:

• A Law Degree (Juris Candidatus)
• Very good knowledge of municipal law as well as public access and confidentiality
• Very good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing.

It is meritorious if you have:

• Several years of experience in legal work within the public sector, preferably within municipal operations.
• Experience from working as a lawyer at a law firm
• Experience in conducting training and leading development initiatives
• Experience with litigation in both general courts and administrative courts

Ängelholm Municipality is currently also seeking a Municipal Lawyer with a focus on schools and welfare. This means there will be a lawyer colleague in the "Learning and Family" main assignment, providing good opportunities for professional peer support and close collaboration.
