Adapted primary school is an alternative to the standard primary school for students who are assessed as unable to meet the knowledge requirements of the standard primary school due to an intellectual disability. The education should be adapted to each student's prerequisites. Adapted primary school consists of grades 1-9.

We are looking for an engaged and competent special needs teacher who is passionate about creating learning that reaches all students.

About the job

As a special needs teacher in adapted primary school, you work closely with students with intellectual disabilities. You contribute to creating a safe, structured, and stimulating learning environment where every student has the opportunity to develop based on their prerequisites. The position involves being a class teacher in one of our six classes. You work in a team together with leisure center teachers and pedagogical resources. Together, you create accessible and differentiated teaching where every student is given the opportunity to learn.

You are part of a work team where collaboration and collegial learning are central, and you have close cooperation with the student health team, guardians, the principal, and other staff.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and follow up on teaching adapted to the students' needs.
• Work with alternative tools and communicative support (e.g., AAC).
• Document and follow up on the students' development.
• Actively participate in the development of the school's pedagogical work.

Who are you?

• Teacher degree with a special needs teacher degree, preferably with a focus on intellectual disabilities.
• Experience working in adapted primary school or similar operations is meritorious.
• Good ability to adapt teaching to different needs.
• You are secure, clear, and have a great commitment to the students' learning.

Other

Permanent position, 100%, starting August 2026, or as agreed. Probation may apply. Interviews may take place continuously throughout the application period. We place great emphasis on personal suitability, which may mean that teachers without a special needs teacher education may also become relevant for employment. We apply individual and differentiated salary setting. For the position, the monthly salary is between 45,000 and 49,000 SEK, depending on experience, education, and competence.

Police Certificate of Conduct

In connection with an offer of employment, you as a candidate are required to present an extract from the criminal record register for work in any of the following areas: school or preschool, work with children in other operations than school and childcare, work with children according to LSS, work at or in connection with HVB homes, work with the elderly or persons with disabilities. You order the extract via the Police's website. The extract must be presented before employment can begin.
