Music Teacher/Instrument Teacher

Do you want to be part of creating education where music becomes a path to community, creativity, and learning? At Kyrkbacksskolan, we are now looking for an engaged and relationship-building music teacher/instrument teacher who wants to inspire students and contribute to their musical development.

The position is a combined full-time position (100%), where 50% consists of teaching the subject of music for grades 6–9 in primary school and 50% consists of instrumental teaching within our music activities.

Here, we believe that good teaching starts with the relationship. We are therefore looking for you who want to make a difference by building trusting relationships, awakening curiosity, and creating a desire to learn. You are a clear pedagogical leader who creates structure, security, and participation while inspiring students to develop based on their own prerequisites.

About the position

In one part of the position (50%), you are responsible for teaching the subject of music for students in grades 6–9. You plan, conduct, and follow up on the teaching based on the curriculum and create an inspiring learning environment where students have the opportunity to develop their musicianship, creativity, and self-confidence.

In the other part of the position (50%), you teach students in individual lessons and ensemble activities, where you help students develop as musicians – from beginners to more advanced players. The teaching mainly covers guitar, bass, and/or drums, and you participate in concerts, recitals, and other public arrangements as a natural part of the activity. This part of the position is mainly scheduled during daytime, with some evening sessions in connection with concerts and recitals.

We are looking for you who see the subject of music as an opportunity to create engagement, relationships, and hope for the future. You have the ability to awaken interest and motivation in students and create teaching that feels meaningful, inclusive, and joyful.

We are looking for you who

  • Have teacher certification and eligibility to teach the subject of music for grades 6–9
  • Have education in music or music pedagogy, or equivalent experience
  • Play guitar, bass, and/or drums at a good level
  • Have a genuine interest in working with children and young people
  • Are a secure and clear pedagogical leader with good ability to create structure
  • Have the ability to conduct teaching that awakens curiosity and a desire to learn
  • Are flexible and enjoy participating in concerts and public events
  • Have good collaboration skills and want to contribute to the school's and activity's development

We offer

  • A well-knit work team with a high level of trust where all voices are heard
  • A flexible way of working where we dare to try new things and learn from each other
  • A creative and welcoming work climate
  • Opportunity to shape and develop the teaching and contribute to the activity's development

We place great importance on personal suitability and are looking for you who want to be a positive force in the students' development – both academically and socially.

The position is 100%, divided into 50% music teacher in primary school (grades 6–9) and 50% instrument teacher, with start date as agreed.
