The National Board of Institutional Care (SiS) is a government agency responsible for individually adapted compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse problems. SiS Youth Home Långanäs receives boys who are not subject to compulsory schooling and who have psychosocial problems, criminal behavior, and substance abuse issues.

Job Description

Do you want to be part of making a vital difference for vulnerable people? Then the role of Operational Leader is a meaningful job. As an Operational Leader, you are responsible for institution-wide coordination and leadership of the ongoing work outside office hours, during evenings and nights, with the aim of promoting a secure care and work environment. You guide and support your colleagues in their work and ensure that the work is conducted in a legally secure manner and in accordance with current guidelines, methods, and set goals. Concretely, this means, among other things, that you are responsible for incident command during alarm situations and take necessary measures after an incident has occurred. You communicate identified deficiencies and deviations from routines to relevant managers. You prepare and update security assessments and make decisions on compulsory measures according to the Act Concerning Care of Young Persons with Special Problems (LVU), the Act Concerning Care of Abusers of Hard Drugs (LSU), and the Act Concerning Care of Alcohol and Drug Addicts (LVM) in accordance with SiS work and delegation regulations.

Qualifications

To thrive and succeed in the role, we believe you are a stable person who maintains calm even in stressful situations. You have the will and ability to act based on existing decisions, guidelines, and policies. You have a holistic view and act in the best interest of the operation. Furthermore, you are structured in your work and have a good ability to plan and prioritize effectively.

You must also have:

• Appropriate university education such as social work, behavioral science, or other equivalent higher education, or alternatively at least a two-year university college degree (treatment pedagogy) combined with experience of working within SiS or similar operations.
• Several years of experience working within SiS or another operation focused on care, treatment, and security, such as social services, care and treatment, correctional services, or other relevant operations.
• Good ability to lead, prioritize, and coordinate a work group.

Employment:

The position is a permanent full-time employment and begins with a six-month probationary period. Start date by agreement. Working hours are distributed between day, evening, and night shifts. Interviews and selection are conducted on an ongoing basis.
