The Role of the Social Worker

We have a great need to strengthen the inpatient care with a social worker to meet the increased pressure on inpatient care as well as an increased need for collaboration, primarily with social services and schools. We also see an increased need for intensified parental support with a focus on psychoeducation regarding mental illness and family functioning. You will help families with contacts regarding finances, authorities, and support measures. You will participate in the ward's daily rounds. Documentation and record-keeping are an important part of the work.

At the workplace, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team consisting of doctors, nurses, and nursing assistants.

Your Future Workplace

"A Way In and, Child and Adolescent Mental Health" is a joint unit for child and adolescent health and child and adolescent psychiatry for telephone advice and triage to the correct level of care. The County Clinic consists of three outpatient clinics in Nässjö, Värnamo, and Jönköping, as well as an inpatient ward and an anorexia unit with day care and outpatient care. The county consists of 13 municipalities. We have a total of approximately 150 employees with different professions and workplaces within the clinic.

Inpatient Care

The inpatient care ward has five care beds and is located in Jönköping. Currently, we are located in temporary evacuation premises at Ryhov County Hospital as our ward is undergoing extensive renovation and expansion. We plan to move back to our regular premises at the turn of October/November.

At the inpatient care unit, patients are treated both under voluntary care and under the Mental Health Act (LPT). We meet children and adolescents aged 0–17 with moderate to severe psychiatric conditions and an increasingly complex problem profile. The activity faces major future challenges based on the ongoing comorbidity reform, where the regions will be given increased responsibility for the care and treatment of patients with comorbidity.

Your Profile

We are looking for you who are trained as a social worker with experience from psychiatry or social services.

You are a secure and stable person with good self-insight and sound judgment. You enjoy working independently and in collaboration with other professions. You are receptive and communicative. You have the ability to plan and prioritize your work effectively while also adapting easily to acute changes in circumstances.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
