Your Assignment

Hello! We are looking for a new colleague to the Children and Young People Investigation Section. We are a secure and positive work group where daily life is characterized by respect and commitment to both the families we meet and our colleagues. We strive to find individual solutions based on needs that are sustainable over time for the children and families we meet. To achieve change work, good cooperation is needed between the family, its network, other professionals, and social services.

As a social secretary for children and young people, you handle cases according to the Social Services Act and the Law (LVU). You are responsible for advancing cases and ensuring that current legislation and routines are followed. You investigate, analyze, present proposals for decisions/make decisions, and follow up. You write statements according to the Act on Public Access to Information and Secrecy (LuL) etc. You collaborate and lead meetings, both with children and families and with colleagues, both internally and externally. You work with investigations, interventions, and placements.

You will be part of one of three teams, where each team consists of approximately 5 social secretaries and a team leader. Together, we work for children and young people up to 20 years old and their families.

We work with BBIC as a methodological support and with Signs of Safety's approach and tools. It is important to us that you as a new employee receive a good introduction and support when you arrive. You will go through our introduction program, which includes, among other things, support through a mentor and frequent check-ins with your team leader.

Your responsibilities also include:

  • Working from the best interests of the child and focusing on what the child needs to have a secure upbringing.

  • Contributing to a supportive and inclusive work environment.

Your Profile

We are looking for you who have a degree in social work or education at university level that the employer assesses as equivalent and that meets the eligibility requirements in HSLF-FS 2017:79. You share our basic idea that everything we do should be characterized by respect and client focus, as well as the importance of children's participation. As a person, you are stable and contribute to a positive work climate. You enjoy variety in work, are flexible, and have a good ability to prioritize. You can work independently but also together with others. You are controlled in stressful situations and comfortable meeting people in vulnerable positions. You have good cooperation skills and see collaboration as a prerequisite for designing the best possible support for the families we meet. We place great emphasis on personal suitability. You need to have a driver's license.

Furthermore, we see that you as an applicant:

  • Are secure and empathetic.
  • Have good ability to express yourself in speech and writing.
  • Have good cooperation skills.

It is meritorious if you have experience of:

  • Investigation work with children and young people in social services.
  • Working from Signs of Safety.
