We are currently looking for a System Developer with a strong mathematical and analytical profile to join a specialized software company in central Stockholm. Here, you will work in a small, tight-knit team developing and further developing an advanced platform for society-critical customers within sectors such as energy, water, and process industry. You will enter an environment with high technical standards, clear structure, and significant responsibility, where your work makes a concrete difference for operations that must function around the clock.
About the Role
As a System Developer, you will work broadly with the platform – from developing new features and improving the existing codebase, to implementing customer-specific solutions and optimizing performance. You will participate in complex installations in demanding IT environments and, together with colleagues, ensure that the system functions stably and securely for the customer.
The role also includes rotating responsibility for more advanced support, where the development team owns what they build and follows up on bugs, incidents, and improvement suggestions. You will participate in recurring development meetings where you together solve technical knots, discuss architecture, and plan the next steps when things do not go according to plan. In the long term, there are excellent opportunities to grow into a heavy full-stack role with a deep understanding of both backend, frontend, and model/analysis-related logic.
We are looking for you who
Are a recent or relatively recent graduate Civil Engineer specializing in, for example, Technical Physics, Mathematics, Technical Mathematics, Technical Physics with Applied Mechanics, Vehicle Engineering, or Computer Science – preferably with a clear analytical focus in your chosen courses.
Have studied advanced mathematical and analytical courses, such as optimization, linear algebra, and statistics/AI, and not only passed them but enjoyed the level.
Have implemented models and algorithms in code during your education (not just read theory) and enjoy approaching complex problems in a structured way.
Have programmed in one or more languages such as C#, Java, Python, R, or JavaScript and feel comfortable quickly getting up to speed with new frameworks and technologies.
Thrives in a smaller company where you quickly gain significant responsibility, where decision-making paths are short, and where you are expected to take ownership of your tasks.
Are humble, unpretentious, and professional, but confident in your competence and comfortable collaborating closely with both colleagues and customers.
Meritorious Qualifications
It is particularly meritorious if you:
Have delved into optimization problems, AI models, engineering models, or statistical models in projects or thesis work.
Have done practical projects where you have built your own pipelines, implemented models, and evaluated results against existing solutions.
Have an interest in or experience with analysis, data science, or modeling and wish to continue in the borderland between system development and advanced analysis.
Have insight into or experience from society-critical industries such as energy, water, process industry, or life science.
About the Company and Workplace
The company is a small, specialized system development company that focuses on developing and delivering its own platform, rather than selling broad consulting services. You will become part of a close-knit team where everyone knows each other well, works closely with customers, and has a daily routine with both high technical content and much responsibility.
The workplace is characterized by a clear structure with three fixed internal meetings per week – two shorter daily huddles and one longer Monday meeting – where you share information, plan the week, and work proactively to solve challenges. In addition, the development team has dedicated meetings to handle technically difficult questions together. The company is in a phase where it is building up structure, management, ISO certifications, and marketing, which gives you the opportunity to enter a stage where much is happening and where your voice will be heard.
Practical Information
The position is full-time and located in central Stockholm with a hybrid setup where the team normally works in the office three days a week. The salary is market-based and competitive for recent Civil Engineering graduates, with opportunities for salary development once you have established yourself in the role. Start is after the summer, with a desired start date around the end of August or September, by agreement.
Due to the nature of the assignment and customer requirements, the role is subject to background checks and security clearance. You need to be a citizen within the EU (e.g., Swedish + another EU citizenship is fine).
Selection and interviews take place continuously, so do not wait to submit your application.
The Path In via Xamera
The recruitment takes place in close cooperation with us at Xamera. You will be directly hired by the company from day one, while Xamera acts as support throughout the recruitment process. We are available as a sounding board regarding the role, expectations, salary, and start-up, but your employment and daily life will be directly with the customer.
