The client operates within the defense industry, developing advanced systems where operational reliability and robust architecture are central. The platform team plays a crucial role as their Linux-based platform forms the foundation for the entire development organization, enabling application teams to deliver stable and secure functionality.

Work takes place in a technically complex environment where the system is large, interconnected, and requires curiosity and a desire to understand the big picture. Collaboration is a natural part of the culture, and the platform team maintains close contact with application developers, integrators, and other specialist functions. This creates both variety in daily work and excellent opportunities to learn about all parts of the system.

The team is responsible for a Linux-based platform that serves as the foundation for all application teams. The role involves ensuring that the underlying Linux environment functions stably, securely, and efficiently.

The work includes developing tools, scripts, and features that enhance the platform's stability and usability. Development occurs close to the operating system and container environment, primarily in Python and Go, and sometimes in Bash or Perl. The platform provides core functions such as runtime images, installation, booting, log management, patching, and upgrades.

The role is a combination of software development and system administration. You will work broadly – from Linux optimization and container technology to troubleshooting, improvements, and infrastructure-related tasks. The work is team-based, and the team strives to spread competence and support each other in both planned and unplanned work.

Currently, the focus is on bug fixing and improving the existing platform, where the workday may include quick issues coming in from the side. Requests are handled through assessment, prioritization, and planning in the backlog by the product owner and scrum master.

• Broad Linux competence and experience with containers.

• Programming experience in Python as well as basic knowledge of Go and Bash.

• Experience working close to the system and optimizing Linux environments.

• Strong interest in Linux, preferably also in your spare time.

• English proficiency in both speech and writing.

Meritorious Qualifications

• Experience setting up networks in IT environments.

• Swedish proficiency in both speech and writing.

Salary: Fixed monthly salary

Scope: Full-time, permanent
