In Östra Göinge Municipality, we have a shared Staffing Unit for the municipality's operations, where our primary task is to cover short-term absences. We are now looking for new temporary staff within Health and Care!

"I started working as a temporary staff member with the staffing unit during my education. It was a good way to be able to work a bit with what I was studying. I also thought it might be difficult to get a job directly after my education without either contacts or experience. By working with the staffing unit, I get the chance to show myself, make contacts, and gain experience. Then I can also work both in special housing and in home care. So I get the opportunity to see different operations, which is very fun and educational."

Job Responsibilities

Within elder care, which includes home care and special housing, you will provide care, support, and services based on the individual's needs. This varies from nursing work to various service tasks such as shopping and cooking. Within home care, you perform the work in the customer's home, where travel between customers is done by car or bicycle. The work is primarily independent, but some tasks are performed together with colleagues. You will be based in one of our home care groups in Broby, Knislinge, or Sibbhult/Glimåkra. The night patrol is based in Broby. At our special housing facilities, which we have in Sibbhult, Knislinge, and Broby, you will work together with your colleagues.

Within functional support, which includes LSS activities and personal assistance, you support the user in their daily life. This may involve help with cooking, household chores, personal hygiene, and support to create good living conditions. You will also stimulate leisure and cultural activities and support the user's participation in society according to individually set goals. The work takes place both in the user's home environment and at our LSS housing in the municipality.

As a temporary staff member with the staffing unit, you will step in as needed when regular staff is absent or when there is an extra staffing need. Regardless of which operation you work in, you are responsible for how much you want to work by making yourself available in our booking system, Medvind. You are expected to be available for at least 16 hours per month, but beyond that, it is entirely up to you!

If you are called for an interview, bring copies of grades and/or diplomas as well as references. For work within home care/Night patrol, you are also required to show a driver's license.

Qualifications

• You are at least 18 years old.
• You have completed or are currently attending upper secondary education, preferably within care and support. Adult education or vocational training is considered equivalent to upper secondary education and/or relevant work experience after individual assessment.
• Experience from working in elder care is an advantage.
• You are calm, patient, and have the ability to sense the customer's needs and mood.
• You are flexible, responsible, and self-initiating.
• Having good cooperation skills and always putting the customer's needs in focus is natural for you, as is following our routines and ways of working.
• You need to be accustomed to using a computer/phone as a tool in your work.
• You must be able to master the Swedish language in both speech and writing.
• To work within home care, a B-driver's license is required, as well as the ability to cycle to perform daily tasks. To work at any of our special housing facilities or within functional support, a B-driver's license is not required but is an advantage.
• The work involves irregular working hours, i.e., beyond regular daytime, also evenings/nights and weekends. 24-hour shifts occur within personal assistance.

You will gain insight into many of the municipality's operations; you need to treat this insight with respect and humility. It is also important that you share our values and see your role as a support/helping hand to the municipality's operations in the municipality's work to make our customers happy and proud.

Before an employment offer is considered, extracts from the criminal record and suspicion register directed towards work in the home with the elderly and persons with disabilities are required.

Great importance is attached to personal suitability. Personal suitability will be decisive in the recruitment.

Employment Terms

• Type of employment: Fixed-term employment.
• Duration: 11 days - 3 months, start: By agreement, ASAP.
• Working hours: Irregular working hours, i.e., beyond daytime also evenings and weekends. Night work applicable upon agreement.
