Do you want to contribute to our high standard of care and help develop tomorrow's specialized palliative care in northeastern Scania? Then you might be our new colleague!
The Unit for Palliative Care and Advanced Home Healthcare (ASIH) within Region Scania has the overarching goal of providing equal care to all residents in Scania, regardless of diagnosis, age, or place of residence. In Kristianstad, the unit has a specific mandate to provide palliative specialist care via home visits around the clock. The unit consists of two parts that work closely together: the palliative care ward and advanced home healthcare. On our palliative care ward in Kristianstad, we have ten care beds, and within the municipalities of Kristianstad, Bromölla, and Östra Göinge, we have approximately 32 care beds in patients' homes. We collaborate with municipal care and social services to offer good, cohesive holistic care together.
Patients come to our palliative care ward for shorter or longer stays depending on the reason for admission. We also have a palliative consultation team that visits referred patients in hospitals and home environments, serving as a support to other healthcare providers. We also have a palliative specialist clinic (PM) during daytime hours. The palliative specialist clinic and our consultative support will be a key part of the continued development of our operations. By meeting patients earlier in their disease trajectory, we can offer support, symptom relief, and care closer to the patient. One step in this direction is Supportive Cancer Care, a regional initiative that brings care closer to patients, offering symptom relief and certain treatments at home for those undergoing cancer treatment, instead of requiring hospitalization.
As an employee at ASIH, you will work in a creative organization alongside competent colleagues, where you are a vital part of the team. Short decision-making paths give you great opportunities to influence your work. We have our own emergency line in collaboration with ASIH in Hässleholm, and the team's physicians are available around the clock.

In connection with, among other things, retirement and parental leave, we are now welcoming new colleagues who have a genuine interest in palliative care and wish to develop within the field at ASIH in Kristianstad. Here, you are offered a developing and exciting job where you become part of an interprofessional team.
As a newly hired nurse, you will receive five weeks of side-by-side training. We follow an introduction program developed by the unit, and after the side-by-side training, a mentorship follows where you receive support from a more experienced colleague based on your needs. We value development work, further education, supervision, and reflection for both new and experienced staff.
As a nurse with us, you will provide advanced healthcare in the home. You lead and actively participate in planning the patient's daily care together with other professions and collaborate with other healthcare providers. You are also expected to actively participate in the development and improvement work of the operations.
The goal of specialized care is to collaborate with the patient and other healthcare providers to alleviate the symptoms that trouble the patient and thereby create the best possible quality of life. This means meeting the patient's physical, psychological, and existential needs, as well as providing support to relatives.
We have close collaboration with the palliative care ward for inpatients, ASIH in Hässleholm, as well as with the hospital and various clinics. We also collaborate with CSK regarding the care of patients within Supportive Cancer Care. In addition, we offer health benefits and individual schedule booking via MultiAccess.
We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse with eligibility to work in Swedish healthcare, preferably with a few years of professional experience. Proficiency in Swedish corresponding to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale is a requirement. We would appreciate if you have specialist education in oncology and/or palliative care. Since the operations consist of care beds in the patient's own home or in special housing, a valid B-driving license is a requirement for the position.
You who apply are confident in your professional role and have the patient in focus, which means you have the ability to see the patient as an individual and their needs. Part of the work involves support and conversation, so it is important that you are communicative and have the ability to meet people on different levels. Furthermore, you have a flexible approach and can prioritize between different tasks when the work pace is high.
To thrive with us, you need to be able to work independently and make your own decisions. We see that you gladly share your knowledge and good humor to create a good work climate. We value a positive basic attitude and the desire to be involved in our development work. Since you will become an important employee in our operations, we place great emphasis on good teamwork skills and personal suitability.
We apply continuous selection in this recruitment. We warmly welcome your application today!
