Are you interested in working with art, adult education, and program activities? We are now looking for a temporary Culture Secretary with responsibility for art and program activities, among other things.
The Culture Department in Kumla consists of general culture, which includes program and art activities, heritage issues, and cultural activities for the municipality's elderly, public library services, and a cultural school. Collaboration between the units of the Culture Department is encouraged and is important for reaching all our target groups.
As a Culture Secretary, your workplace is at Kumla Library, and you will work closely with all areas of the Culture Department's operations.

As a Culture Secretary, you have overall responsibility for the planning and implementation of cultural programs, exhibition activities, and public art. Art is an important part of the role, as Kumla Municipality, with its art profile, invests in both exhibition activities and public art, and operates the sculpture area "Konst på Hög" (Art on the Hill). The library services actively promote reading for all target groups, with a major focus on activities for children and young people. Kumla's beautiful library is the hub for cultural activities.
The workplace is Kumla Library, and the work includes some activities during evenings and weekends.
We are looking for you who have a great interest in culture in all its forms in general, and in art in particular. You have good skills in planning, arranging, and implementing cultural programs of various kinds. The position requires good organizational skills and the ability to work both collaboratively and independently. You must also have the ability to shift focus and thrive with multiple processes running simultaneously. Naturally, we expect you to have good knowledge of art and other areas within the cultural sector. You are good at building relationships, coordinating, finding solutions, planning, and communicating. You express yourself well both verbally and in writing, and have relevant digital competence, for example, good knowledge of Office programs. A driver's license and access to a private car may be required.
We are looking for you with an academic education in the cultural sector or other adequate education that the employer deems suitable. Similar work experience and/or competence in the field of art is meritorious. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
The position will be filled subject to necessary decisions being made. Interviews are planned to be held during weeks 34-35.
