Jönköping Parish, Jönköping

About Us

Swedish Church Jönköping, in the Diocese of Växjö, is a dynamic and growing parish that reflects the city's development and changes. With an annual population growth of nearly 2,000 residents and a municipality that aims to reach 200,000 inhabitants in the long term, our parish is in constant motion. This development affects not only our residents but also business life, associations, and the role of the Christian church in the city.

We operate in a context where our ten churches are organized into three geographical parish areas, and we run preschools, family counseling, as well as counseling and diaconal clinics. We are present at the hospital, the university college, and within the prison service, constantly seeking new creative ways to be present where people live their lives. The funeral service is active in four operational areas.

"Sing to the Lord a new song."

In Ekhagskyrkan, music is a natural part of the church's life and community.

Ekhagskyrkan is located in a district where people of different ages and life situations meet. Here, there is a warm and welcoming parish community where the worship service, music, and personal meetings are at the center. The church is a natural meeting place for people seeking community, spiritual deepening, and context.

Music plays an important role in parish life. Through worship services, church ceremonies, choirs, and concerts, we want to create spaces for both worship, joy, comfort, and participation. We see music as a path to faith and community and as a bridge between the church and people in the local area.

Ekhagskyrkan is part of Jönköping Parish and collaborates with other churches and activities within the parish. Here, there are dedicated employees and volunteers who together want to develop the church's life for the future.
