Do you want to create experiences that touch, challenge, and open up for conversations? Do you have an interest in society and enjoy creating meetings between people, between objects, artworks, and visitors of different ages? Then the position of Exhibition Producer at Jönköping County Museum might be for you!
You will become part of the Public Activities unit, where you, together with knowledgeable colleagues, produce exhibitions with art or cultural history perspectives, always with the audience in focus and with the ambition to make cultural experiences accessible on equal terms for everyone. In this role, you are expected to deliver high-quality exhibitions where the museum's core values are achieved and target groups are broadened.
We are now looking for two Exhibition Producers, one with a focus on art and one with a focus on cultural history. Over the next few years, several large and exciting exhibition projects will be produced, where you will have a key role. Wouldn't you like to be part of it?
Responsibilities
As an Exhibition Producer, you work on developing and implementing the county museum's exhibition activities – from idea to finished exhibition. You project-manage exhibition productions internally and externally, are responsible for the budget, ensure quality and target group adaptation, and prepare documentation for contracts and purchases. The role also involves operating and further developing existing exhibitions, as well as planning and conducting tours and public activities. Close collaboration with internal functions and external actors, environmental scanning, and working with project applications are a natural part of the job.
Qualifications
We are looking for you with good knowledge and experience of exhibition production within art or cultural history and who has:
The work is outward-looking, and you thrive on creating relationships, meeting people and new contexts, and preferably have a broad network. The tasks therefore require good ability to communicate and collaborate, and that you contribute to a good work environment, while being able to work independently. You have good analytical ability related to problem-solving and environmental scanning, and the ability to work systematically, by planning, documenting, following up, and evaluating for learning purposes – as well as handling several projects in parallel.
We place great emphasis on personal suitability to perform the tasks, based on the organization's needs.
Employment
The position is a permanent full-time employment (40 hours/week), starting with a 6-month probationary period. Working hours are normally during the day, but evening and weekend work is included. Start date according to agreement.
The Workplace
The County Museum offers you inspiring tasks in a dynamic environment, good competence development, active work environment work, good working conditions, and wonderful colleagues!
We hope you will enjoy and grow with us!
Application
The last day for applications is August 16. In your application, you attach a cover letter, CV, salary expectation, as well as relevant certificates and grades.
State in your application whether you are applying for the position with a focus on art or cultural history, or if you are applying for both positions.
We use selection questions in the application process, where the answers are significant for the selection. We also ask you to attach a fictional concept proposal and project plan for a smaller temporary exhibition, on the theme "Traces of Time", max 2 A4 pages.
We make selections and invite to interviews after the application period ends on August 16. Interviews are planned to be held on-site, August 24 - August 28.
We warmly welcome your application!
