Quality & Compliance Engineer

After several years of growth, Thorlabs Sweden is now looking for a Quality & Compliance Engineer who wants to contribute to the further development of our work within quality and compliance. This is a new role for us, offering a unique opportunity to take significant responsibility and influence from the start.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Quality & Compliance Engineer, you play a central role in ensuring that our operations meet both external requirements and internal goals regarding quality and compliance. This role is ideal for you if you want to take overall responsibility and drive processes forward in a technology-intensive and international environment.

Your main areas of responsibility include:

• Driving and further developing our Quality Management System (QMS)
• Monitoring the development of relevant regulations and standards, and ensuring compliance
• Managing and coordinating internal and external ISO audits
• Handling non-conformities and supporting the organization in root cause analysis, improvement work, and follow-up of quality objectives
• Collecting, managing, and following up on compliance data from suppliers and external parties
• Handling compliance inquiries such as quality agreements and self-assessments

The role involves independently driving the work forward, developing processes, and establishing a long-term sustainable function for quality and compliance. At the same time, you serve as a continuous support for the organization in matters within this area. The role is central to creating structure and further developing working methods, and you will have ample opportunity to shape how the function is built up and operates over time.

You act as the contact person for quality and compliance and work in close collaboration and clear communication with internal functions, as well as with colleagues within Quality & Compliance at our sister companies.

ABOUT YOU

To succeed in this role, we see that you have:

• An academic degree, preferably in engineering, Quality & Compliance, or similar
• A good understanding of standards and regulations
• Experience in quality work, audits, and regulatory issues
• Good proficiency with the Office suite; experience with D365 is a plus
• Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written

As a person, you are responsible, have a high sense of quality, and work systematically to achieve results. You are self-motivated but also thrive in collaboration with others and have strong communication skills. You are motivated by building, improving, and creating structure, and are confident in taking initiative and making decisions within your area.
