The position is located within the Unit for Social Development in the area of Sustainable Growth at Region Jämtland Härjedalen. Sustainable Growth, together with Culture and Education and Public Transport, forms the administrative area of Regional Development. Regional Development has the task of coordinating and streamlining regional development work and strengthening social, economic, and environmental sustainability. This is achieved by leveraging the county's opportunities and promoting development in areas such as business, competence supply, culture, infrastructure, and issues concerning a sustainable and attractive living environment.

Job Responsibilities

Do you want to work both strategically and operationally together with colleagues and other actors in the county who enjoy working together and learning from each other? In your role as a Development Strategist within Region JH, we are looking for a person with a broad profile who has in-depth expertise and experience in one of the following areas: digitalization, innovation, land, forestry and water, sustainable energy, and experiences (our defined strength areas within smart specialization). You may also have a background as a political advisor and be well-versed in regional, national, and EU politics.

Through collaboration with actors within business, academia, and the public sector, you contribute to finding solutions to current and future challenges in our Region. You will work closely with your colleagues in a broad role, including but not limited to:

  • Coordinate and facilitate the regional actor network with actors within smart specialization.
  • Collaborate with regional actors.
  • Participate in and represent the region in relevant networks and forums at regional, national, and international levels.
  • Contribute to the preparation of decision support materials, strategies, and official responses.
  • Provide strategic statements for applications for 1:1 funds.
  • Serve as administrative support to politics and management.

Qualifications

  • University or college degree relevant to the position's focus and scope.
  • Ability to moderate and facilitate: Good experience and comfort in leading and coordinating, moderating, and facilitating development processes, projects, or networks.
  • Very good command of Swedish in both speech and writing. A prerequisite is that you can express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish and create written documentation suitable for public environments.
  • Broad knowledge in areas central to social development and sustainable growth.
  • Experience in strategic development work encompassing many perspectives and experience in handling different actors from various target groups.
  • Experience working with European Union funds or other external funding sources.
  • Experience working in a politically governed organization.
  • Relationship building: Good ability to create and maintain relationships.
